no, seriously you have no idea what a threat Anonymous really is. They gave the church of scientology a massive black eye, has basically destroyed the lives of the people holding Sgt. Manning captive over the whole wikileaks leaks, and has destroyed a security company. As well as shut down several government websites, among other things. You do not take a threat from them lightly or else they will destroy you.
If good sized portion of Anon is seriously going to target Sony, be very prepared for the PSN to be annihilated (or at least be taken offline for at least a week or two if its not hacked and crippled) as well as probably most of the executives within Sony to have all their personal information Doxed. It wouldn't destroy Sony, but Anon will severely damage them if this is true.

Right, and we suffer along with that. Why is that a good thing?
You seem to always put them up on a pedastal when they really have no reason what-so-ever t obe. They have no one's best interest in mind other than their own.

Actually, all their major crusades have helped massively. They made it so PayPal would allow donations to wikileaks, they shut Scientology up, destroyed a security company that was planning on revealing who was apart of the cyber war that is still brewing, hurt governments that stood against freedom of information. Yes they have done some questionable things too. But some good does come from what they do.
Anonymous is a very unique group, as they are actually 100% leaderless. It is basically a coin with a heads and tails side, its a matter which side the coin lands on today that matters which side anonymous will take today. There is also the fact within anonymous there are splinter groups that also flip their own coins. It actually a very good example that the world could work very effectively without true leaders. And when the collective gets together and they decided on what they are going to do it gets done.
And really, Sony suffering for what they are doing would be a fantastic thing. They deserve it. It would definitely put them in their place. And like Machina said, they are more likely to reprice everything in the PS Store to zero or 1cent than bring down the network. Network crashing is normally their last resort (except under certain circumstances). And the easiest way to stop a company in their tracks is to destroy their management teams.
