Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will we ever see a RE on the PSP?

I honestly thought by now, we would have seen a RE on the PSP.

Capcom are one of the biggest developers on the PSP with loads of games, yet they've not brought a RE onto the platform.

Does anyone know of any news if one is planned or will they even bother now?

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

I think there won't be RE version for psp any time soon. Konami is working on Silent Hill Origins right now so I think Capcom will wait for a sale results of this particular title. If it will successed RE will arrive for PSP for sure.

Silent Hill Origins has been delayed for ages and doesn't look like coming out anytime soon...probably the end of the year.

Surely Capcom will look at the sales of Monster Hunter Portable 2 on the PSP in Japan along with over 1m sales in Japan alone and Resident Evil's do very well in JP as well.

I honestly thought it would have been a cert sometime this year especially when PSP sales are doing well in JP with near 6m units.

It's true. I think we will see Silent Hill Origins earlier than RE anyway. There is RE1 as a downloadable content though.

yea, probably when the next resident evil comes out for the ps3, they will make some low budget low effort port for it, which will consist of mostly loading screens, and lag durring gameplay, and will only sell about 4-6 copys because no one wants to buy a game, thats currently out for a console, for a little 3 inch screen handheld with a processor that cant really handle it.

I think visual side of this game won't be a problem as long as some idiots try to compare it to PS3... RE for PSP will be at least 5 time more successful than DS version. And yes graphics will be awesome as for handheld - especially for lamers who get used to 67MHz CPU in DS and thinks graphic doesn't sell games.

umm, HUH?

Did you even read that? You need to do a little proof reading sometime, that was hard to make sense, and I ASS-U-ME that your first sentence meant to say "as long as some idiots dont try to compare it to the PS3."  Yea, and I thought we have been over the graphics thing, and as of now, nintendo has the weaker graphical product for both handheld and console, yet, is dominating both wars. In fact, the DS is beating out the PSP so bad that you dont even hear about the PSP anymore. So until the sony product starts to at least compete with Nintendos, I dont see how you can say graphics sell games. And I think myself and my brothren are taking offense to calling people who like to play games and have fun doing it "lamers." Your paying more money for a same old same old product that is losing all its support for the much intuitive and still classic at the same time, Nintendo products, whos the "lamer" now?

Proof reading? Probably yes. My mistake comes from grammer difference between my native language and English (double negation works in many languges... but I'm sure you have no idea about this)

Regards games and fun. For me good graphics is always a good thing. Take a look on Puzzle Quest for DS and PSP... If you respond with statements like "some old product stuff" - yes you are a blind lamer.

I would say an original spinoff, with RE4 controls and camera, is most likely. The textures would be closer to the GC version, as the system has texture compression, and hardware based textures don't eat up a lot of battery life anyway (as screencaps and video of FFVII: Crisis Core  show), but polygon count and framerate would be at typical low PSP levels, as those do eat up battery life.

That is, unless Capcom packs in a super longer battery with the game (even greater than the gold battery, which only adds 20% to battery life), so that the game would have an advanced graphics options, so that the graphics would be closer to 6th gen home systems.

And there would be loading as long as the PS2 version, but even the PS2 version was pretty good about it, and reviving the cool creaking loading door would be great.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Yes, for me too, and the Wii has good graphics, in fact its graphics are great, so Im more than satisfied.

So puzzle quest? Thats 1 game and its also for the DS. Its simply a game company just doing something new with the "same old product stuff." Im not saying it isnt still good and refreshing, but probably a bit more refreshing for the DS anyway as you most likly use your stylus and only stylus (no buttons) throughtout the game.   Using the stylus is great for puzzle games like that.
