Forums - Sony Discussion - Would you pay to play online?

Yes I would. Sony is losing lots of free money by not following Microsoft's strategy and charging for online. Like ½ a Billion Dollars per year or something.

hell no

As an old school gamer haven't been playing on-line games to much. It's just that the single player and the local multiplayer are more enjoyable to me. The only one this gen that I spent more the 5 hours playing on-line was Mario Kart Wii, so no I will not pay to play on-line.

I've had an Xbox Live subscription since Halo 2 came out but I wouldn't pay for PSN.  Nothing against PSN I mostly just play Halo online and a few other 360 games and most my friends use Live so that's what I use.  I've never played a multiplayer game on PSN.

It's interesting to see the perspective. Many people here FEELS that Sony should chage for online because its a revenue stream, its almost like a given fact that online subscription fee should be implimented. Go back ten year and very idea of paying to play online would have been absurd :). Ah the time!

Not a per-month or per-match type of deal. DLC is fine, but the others are unreasonable, IMO.

nope

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

right now, only for one MMO. i think im gonna let my Live subscription lapse due to lack of money and interesting online games. may get it back later.

why would I pay for something I can get for free?

(Rhetorical question)

For PSN no but for the 360 I do and have no intentions of stopping.
