- I wouldn't call LBP2 a massive disappointment, but a disappointment nonetheless. LBP1 had the advantage of selling faster and stronger due to holiday and freshness, but LBP2 should still be selling at least within 100k of it. In the end, I can see it getting close to LBP1's lifetime totals, but not clearing them, which is a shame (it's better in every way).

- KZ3, it's not doing that good because of bundles (you can't really buy those anymore here), it's because of the marketing and multiplayer.

- Reach is definitely strong, but recent price drops/sales helped quite a bit.

? what are you ranting on about? who said it's unique. Price drops help sales...same for all games...Reach is no exception. DOn't see anyone saying anything to contradict that. fact remains, price dropped, helped increase sales..not sure what you are trying to say here

KZ3 is at 32.7k in its fifth week compared to 35.1k for KZ2.  It's legs aren't any worse than KZ2's in EMEAA.

I see that no one thinks about one simple thing : it is the only console using Blu-ray.

Put a Wii, a PS3 and a Xbox360 in front of you and ask yourself : Wich piece of hardware is apparently more "future-proof"? The majority of people is answering PS3.

And yet less people think that this year than last... look at my YOY above your post.

We are often guilty of looking at a weeks numbers in isolation.

The PS3 is doing good compared to last year,considering that it was still riding the slim/price-cut effect.

agreed, being the leader is very good.... but it is down YOY, and this week by quite a large amount.

The industry is down... the only exception is 360 hardware.

Brand power has meant little of late. Right now, the PS3 is the only console with new and exclusive content coming out at such an abundance. That definitely plays a factor.

What piracy?

Just old consoles with old firmware could be used for piracy... the new consoles came with new firmware... so piracy has nothing to do with PS3 sales now.

Also, why only adjust up by (in the Wii's case ) 100 units? Seems pointless, may as well wait until the end of the month, when we'll get the ACTUAL numbers from the Big 3, and adjust accordingly then...

If the PS3 being able to lead by 2 million before  November... I can see:   PS3>Wii>3DS>360.

You can downgrade the firmware, I'm a grey market retailer and PS3 sales have increased A LOT since the custom firmware (especially the Killzone 3 bundle). I personally do not condone piracy and don't custom the firmware of any of the PS3 I got in stock but people always tell me that they plan to do it.

i was one of the halo reach purchasers :) got the big LTD edition its a great game.

homefront is deffo doing well, the multiplayer looks quite good, il be getting that soon
