Irem doesn’t joke around. Following the cancellation of Disaster Report 4 for PlayStation 3, due to the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, developer Irem has discontinued the entire series.

The company, also known for their Steambot Chronicles franchise, will not create any more Disaster Report titles and are discontinuing production of any previous entries in the series. If you’re still without a copy of Disaster Report 2 or Disaster Repo

Understandable but still, I heard decent things about those games.

It is a loss for gaming, but it would be hard to release that type of game scenario when so many people died from the real thing.

I suspect it will be a few years before any mainstream entertainment company use nuclear power as a focal point for a story (unless they are trying start controversy and condemn it) either.

Yeah, the quake was damn horrible, but eh? That's just going way overboard, sorry. Delay sure, discontinue?

Give it few years and it will be back when people forget about the earthquake like how people forgot about Kobe earthquake.
