That pic of "The Body" makes me think about Batman.

pricing the individual parts will be quite challenging and I very much doubt that you could actually make a controller this way, there may be some improvements for some people but most will find it confusing and quite annoying having to go out and buy individual parts for a controller

but if I broke an analog stick I could pick up a replacement very easily

So, 

1. That design will never work

2. It would be very confusing and unpopular

3. Parts of your controller can go missing

4. It can fall apart

5. Your dog can swallow your R2 button

6. Your analog stick can get stuck in your baby sister's throat and she could choke to death

7. You probably hate me now and have stopped reading...

It would be WAAAAY cooler if they just have 2 or 3 different models to choose from. That would be awesome.

I think the only thing Sony should do is make the left Analog stick swappable with D-Pad,  like a few of the Third Party controllers that are out there.  And permanently make the triggers like the Real Triggers clip on mod

You read my mind perfectly.

this -- that design is waaay to complicated.  say 2 choices in layout and size for a total of 4 models would be okay.  anything beyond that is just too confusing and expensive.

i always liked this concept for the Move
