Just got done playing SSFIV for about 45 minutes online.

STUNNING. ABSOLUTELY, STUNNING.

The visuals are amazing, the frame rate never drops below 60, the online is smooth as hell with no lag, the 3D effect is just beautiful. I have Pilotwings, and it's cool too...but no game right now demonstrates the awesomeness that is the 3DS like Street Fighter does. Capcom are on their A game right now and I can't wait to see what Resident Evil looks like.

I may have bought just the system(can't afford any games at the moment) The 3D truely delivered for me. The 3D blew my mind as I was setting up the system. When I do get a game, its just going to amaze me even more. This is going to leave me with fond, fooond sentimental memories; just like with the original DS.

I might have missed the launch, but that didn't affect my initial impression.

I went to Bestbuy and gave it a whirl. The 3D is pretty cool but not really mind blowing. It reminds of the 3D effect you see on giftcards and such where you see a person or object that stays flat on the card and everything behind it has a sort of 3Dish effect. That is how it was with Pilot Wings. My character seemed a bit 2Dish, but everything else seemed 3Dish, but with the effect going into the screen. I witnessed no pop out effect.

I gave it about 20 minutes or so there and while I think it was cool I don't think it is $250 cool.

I then went to Target next door to pick up some food to eat for me and my daughter and low and behold they had a display too, so I played it some more. This time it was a bit better because I realized that I could pull the unit off the display.

#1.) I lose the effect if I move my head up or down, to the left or to the right. I need to keep my head still and at a specific distance from my face.

#2.) 3/4 3D was the sweet spot for me. Anything else gave me little to nothing and full 3D gave me double vision. Also seems that the higher the 3D effect, the closer you need to have it to your face and vice versa.

#3.) After playing for a combined 30-45 minutes I experience ZERO headaches or dizziness and I also experienced no eye strain at all. After playing your eyes need to readjust but it is extremely minor and takes a few moments at most for me

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I'm less impressed with the 3D than most others.  It definitely works, but it doesn't really add much, especially the 3D photos feature. Staying in the sweet spot is also something of a pain.  Luckily, I haven't experienced any headaches/eye strain or other maleffects.  On the flip side, so far I really like the circle pad.

I'm in love with this thing and I don't even own a 3DS game!!!

EDIT: does anyone know when the internet browser will be enabled?

damn...that's a long wait, the DSI had it's shop and internet browser up on day one if i'm not mistaken.

Playing Pilotwings a further hour has yielded that max 3D is too much, so i went all the way to zero and started slowly working my way up. Halfway seems about good right now, where i get the depth but not the easy double vision.

The game is very zen, though i can't for the life of me figure out how to shave time off that "photograph the lighthouse" mission...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I thought my brain was going to melt when I first witnessed the 3D effect, and I don't mean that it was causing physical problems. The best way I could describe it is if you were walking down a hallway and then suddenly the hallway stretched to infinity. Crazy stuff, but it looks damn cool.

Yeah that one's a bitch. Well and that one where you have to follow a boat and a plane and pop balloons. I strongly dislike that one.
