Yeah, damn Ubisoft with their trend of environment highlights. Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed and next up Deus Ex.

I hate it with a passion. Not only does it destroy immersion but it ruins the trail and error approach and interest to interact with the environment.

I hate the primacy of multiplayer this gen, especially when it encourages developers to have a short single player and compensate by having better multiplayer.  I'm not so  much a multiplayer kind of guy, but I don't mind developers focussing on it as long as the single  player isn't gimped as a result.

Linear and extremely scripted single-player especially in shooters these days. I don't really mind linearty as long as it's done well like Half-Life 2, Metro 2033, Uncharted 2, The Darkness...etc. but please god give more than one way to deal with my encounters and stop dragging me by my fucking nose to look at your "cinematics".

QTEs that pop up in the middle of cutscenes without any warning whatsoever which result to instant death and then you have to restart the entire section AGAIN. biggest offender: the third Legend of Spyro game.

Everyone is entitled to finish every game.

Instead of worrying about a game being 10 hours or 5 hours or even 60 hours, we should have games that people play as much as they wish. Also, make them harder and not in a cheap manner, make them encourage exploration, make them encourage different playstyles, etc.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Quicktime! It's almost never done correctly!

About QTE, I really like the ones in RE4, and GoW'd QTE are nicely done and really add something to the game, especially for bosses. On the other hand, the QTE in ME2 seemed totally out of place.

In fact, QTE are just an easier 'look the boss has turned back and shows its weakpoint for two second, let's hit it !!!' -- but with only one button, so that modern gamer has less to think at ^^

MOTION CONTROLLS !!!

Please... name 5 hardcore games that motion controls ruin.  And please don't give me that Mario and Zelda shit.

I don't want whiny game nerds that complain about every fucking thing about games because they are just bad at them, spoiled, selfish and are just plain asshole next gen.

Its sounds like ppl want the same game all the time and play it the same way all the time.  I for one don't mind different stuff once in awhile and i don't mind ppl trying new things with games.

The only thing i see on the list that makes sense is not being able to skip a scene.
