Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games released a while ago that you still play.

To me, a good game is a game I routinely play. They usually have a fun local-multiplayer and a very long lasting appeal.

Here's my list:

Resident Evil 5

Almost 2 years now

I constantly joke with my brother every Saturday night that the people who bitch about Resident Evil 5 are people who don't have any friends. Resident Evil 5, despite all the negative (misleading) criticisms has easily become one of my favorite games this generation. The beauty of the Co-op really didn't sink in until I decided to play the story-mode with my brother (who lives in Chicago). The laughs and fun we had playing through 6 chapters over a period of 10 weeks will be a gaming experience I'll remember for a life time.

I still regularly play RE5 (Gold Edition) with friends and others who visit during the weekends.

Street Fighter IV/ Super Street Fighter IV

Almost 2 years now

A lot of people here confuse me for a hardcore fighting genre fan because of my avatar. That couldn't be any further from the truth. As a matter of fact, it would probably be at the bottom of my list next to racing games. I only got the game because me and my friend were bored one morning and we wanted to play a game that we could both enjoy. And for nostalgic reasons, we picked up Street Fighter IV from our local Gamestop later that day.

The rest is history. The game has a wonderful balance between visuals, controls and music. And even though I don't play it online that much anymore, it's the first game I pop in when I have guests. It's competitive and creates fun smack talk!

To be continued ...

I have class but I have at least 4 more games on my list.

Tekken 2 since '98. I still play it sometimes. Also, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne (that game feels timeless to me, lol), and recently Dragon Age: Origins.

For me this generation its Uncharted, both of them.

of curse Uncharted 2 will last longer, its incredibly fun to play with friends competitive and Co-operative

But the singleplayer too... I played through Uncharted 2 about 5 times, and watched someone else play it like 2 times...This game just has something that catches me everytime!

Uncharted 1, I only played through it once, but tomorrow Im going for the plat! (only lend it from a friend before, and bought it now! cant wait for it...!)

Then Lost Planet also has something I really like, unfortunately none of my friends play it, only psn-friends, but its hellalot fun too!

Soul Calibur IV -  I bought it first for ps3 than bought it also for 360 to play with 360 only friends. This game is the perfect game to play with people who do not normally play games.

GTA IV- Still go online and battle my cousin and a friend every couple of months.

I also agree with your statement Hatmoza about Resident Evil five only being bad if you play alone. I love playing mercenaries even after beating the game. This is the top game I wished I had bought instead of rented.

i still play final fantasy tactics from a long time ago

MK Wii and DS

Blazblue CT

SFIV

Super Mario World

Metal Gear Solid

Battlefield 1943. Easy to pick up and put down when I have a little time to kill.

Eh, I replay all my games over the years but I will only do the ones I beat atleast once a year and Home Console only.

Donkey Kong Country 1-3

Super Mario Bros. 1-3 and World

The legend of Zelda NES-SNES

Metroid-Super Metroid- I think Other M is going to end up on this list. I enjoyed it a lot.

Sonic 1-3

Earthworm Jim 1-2

Golden Axe

Kirby's

Actually even doing this way is going to take to long. Atleast once a week i pop in a old favorite and play it and a lot them dont take long to beat. Plus all the times I have played them make it that much quicker.  I could honestly easily list 100 older games I play every year. I play them as much if not more than the newer ones.

SuperSFIV, Tekken 3.

Brood War

Pokemon Red

I LOVE ICELAND!
