Really great game.

I think this game would sell better as a ps3 exclusive.

And i think killzone 3 would do better as a 360 exclusive..go figure.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

congrats and hopefully it can get bundled some more , so the sales can hit 2million .

Actually their where no bundles that had physical copies of the game in it; so the 1 million copies sold are actual sales without any bundles.

How isn't it a flop? It was a game that was in development for five years and it has extremely high production values. It sold less than 500,000 units in it's first month and the price of it plummeted not long after release. It also had a haggard development cycle and we don't know how many times they had to recreate asstes or just start over certain aspects of the game. It's a flop in the same way that Heavenly Sword and Valykria Chronicles were flops, it could leg it to 1.5 million, but that'll be at the price of $20 and it would take a span of two years to do it.

I'm sure (and hopeful) that we will see a sequel and I'm confident that it will perform better, it's just a matter of spending two years getting the first game into people's hands and getting people to know the name, similar to what happened with Uncharted, Dead Space and Little Big Planet. The DLC bundle will work wonders and I'm confident that Alan Wake 2 will have a much larger launch and will be a much more succesful game.

Good point but I'm sure that their are a lot of games that sold over a million copies and only sold around 500,000 units at full retail price.

Flop or not (flop imo) it deserved more sales by what i saw. I should give it a shot (even though i can't play most horror games lol)

Nice sales for this genre on the Xbox 360.  Hopes it sells more.

Don't really care if it was a flop or not...it was a good game.  Probably my favorite 360 exclusive outside of the Mass Effect series.  Great story-telling and atmosphere.  DLC was great too.  Hope a sequel happens.

That's one of the most ridiculous things you can say
if you think it's a good game. If this good game you enjoyed doesn't get enough sales, it won't get a sequel. You want it to NOT be a flop if you like the game. Sales matter.

Alan Wake smells like purple.

That game is awesome, I'm playing it right now and it's the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time.  Other than Fallout 3 it's my favorite game I've played on the 360, definitely one of the best exclusives.  It's like playing an action thriller/horror movie and novel at the same time.  When I started playing it I thought "Wow THIS is how you tell a story!"

It's still a sales flop in my eyes. Weren't they working on the game for like five years?

Now before you jump on me for calling a game that sells one million copies a flop, I'd like to remind you that I consider Super Mario Galaxy a flop as well.

It's alright, I consider GT5 a Flop too and it has sold over 5 million copies. I don't consider SMG a flop because not only did it live up to it hype for BOTH games, but they also sold millions as well. I also consider Epic Mickey a flop.

Great game.  It truly deserves more sales.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
