Ahhh... You mean the ones that were given out for free :p

yep have nothing to do with the 1 million that was sold. I dont think a physical copy of Alan Wake has ever been in a bundle

Heavy Rain sold a million in about 4 months with even less marketing than Wake.....sorry ...but wake is a FLOP

Heavy Rain sold a million half the time and now approaching 2 after 13 months of release...... with even less marketing than Wake.....sorry ...but wake is a FLOP

Wait so almost 1 million people have bought AW off of Xbox live? So does that mean the sales are closer to 2 million total?

Congrats to Wake and well deserved.  I think a sequel is pretty much guaranteed and MUCH needed.  I think Wake had easily one of the most intriguing stories of this generation. Not to mention development on a second title would be much easier and focued due to them actually knowing what platform it will be on and which mechanics they want / need to use.

If MS didn't plan on expanding on the franchise I don't see why they would have bundled it.  Hopefully we'll get an announcement at E3 for Wake 2.

I've heard nothing but praises of the game. Hurray for Wake

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

Alan Wake had less marketing and not only that it was also one of 2010's most pirated games so cut the crap.

1 Dante’s Inferno (1,280,000) (Feb. 2010)
2 Alan Wake (1,140,000) (May. 2010)
3 Red Dead Redemption (1.060,000) (May. 2010)
4 Halo Reach (990,000) (Sept. 2010)
5 Call of Duty: Black Ops (930,000) (Nov. 2010)

History does not record piracy figures.

Good to see it do 1m but is has been in the bargain bin for a while, I know because  I was looking to get it for someone (but afterwards  thought it might be a bit too "grown up"for them). Back then a brand new copy at Amazon was for less than £10.00.

Selling it at such a low price (and I don't think it was that long after release) isn't good for the developers and from what I have seen of it, they deserved a decent financial reward for their work.

I hope at the very least the developers broke even.

Games with the name Gears of War, Halo , and Call of duty only sell well on xbox. BTW this game was a definite flop no doubt. 5 years come on....

heavy rain sold 2 million weeks ago

I trust no one, not even myself.
