Forums - Sales Discussion - Will Japan EARTHQUAKE effect 3DS launch?

Japan just got hit by a massive earthquake.

3DS was released few days ago and had a very succesfull launch but succesfull release is not all that counts, the first few days and month count alot towards the succesfull launch of a product.

Such a massive event happening may take all the attention away and when things come back to normal,3DS may not be the hot new product.

How do you think will the quake impact 3DS's launch or will it not?

i dont know...i never was in that situation with earthquakes and tsunamis destroying everything...but i guess if in some areas the damage is very high i cant imagine people in that area caring about buying a 3DS...especially if they dont got a home no more or the game shops were destroyed...

so i would say...the bigger the damage over there is = less 3DS sales...

This is so true. I will continue to keep the Japanese people in my prayers, and I will let other people worry about the 3ds.

Isn't there more important things to think about just now other than the successful launch of a handheld.

Exactly what I thought after reading the thread title.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Bringing fanboy console warfare into a natural disaster like this.

Stay classy, snakenobi.

It makes you proud to be a gamer, doesn't it?

That is humanity, hundred of thousands companies are having meetings how what happened in Japan would effect them..it took only a couple of minutes after the Earthquake for the financial markets to react about it.
