It find it funny that people are pretending to care on here.

I find it funny that some random idiot is pretending to know what others think or feel.

I heat the tsunami hasn't really done anything significant other than in Japan. By the time it got to New Zealand it was at about 15cm. Haven't heard anything about the pacific islands between hear and Japan.

Update - Some damage in California from the tsunami: boats in Marinas some docks being damaged, 5 people swept out to sea (if they were down at the beach to watch the tsunami coming in then WTF were they thinking?).

Your profile says you are 39, I would expect someone your age knows what empathy is.

Now, Im not crying or anything, and I certainly dont feel personally sad, hell, some people could say a joke and deppending on it I could laugh, but consider there are people here from japan and wishing them good isnt pretending to care, talking about such big dissaster isnt pretending to care either.

This is an important event  for the whole world after all, and considering the magnitude of this event is not strange that people in here care to a certain extent about whats happening, and its only human to wish people good when things like this happens.

I find his comment annyoing too but what annoys me more is the fact that the human nature or let's just say that the majority these days never seem to care about the suffering and the tragedies around us unless there is some big unusal event happens. Once it becomes the usual people stop caring.

Like the recent protests in Libya. The revolution doesn't seem to interest my friends anymore and it's becoming old news.

Well, I would say thats because we have somewhat of a tribal way of thinking, globalization kinda goes the other way, but in ancient times, other countries and people from far away or simply other than our own were seen as aliens, enemies, etc...

That may be a reason we dont care as much.

Let's hope not. That would just make a dire situation worse. I pray for the best for the citizens of Japan.

According to the article its a controlled vent. Not good in that they have to do that meaning they can't get core pressure down, but should ultimately be harmless, especially since the wind runs seaward.
