Forums - Sales Discussion - Given NPD data is how close is Sony to their 2010 projections?

I have no idea how to analysis sales, but I do know Sony's fiscal year ends in march right. So how much do they have to sell to reach their 15 million projection?

I would have asked this in the NPD thread I know, but I fear I wouldn't have gotten an answer due to every creaming their pants at how great the numbers are for all....

Sony need to ship more 2.8m between 1st January and 31th March to match their prediction.

Jan-Feb NPD: 717k
Jan-Feb MC: 210k

So between EMEAA Jan-Mar and US Mar and JP Mar Sony needs more 1.9m sales... but shipped number are always bigger than sales so 1.5 million is a easy bet.

Sony will EASY met it's prediction.

Edit - Fixed.

sony always makes it's prediction because i think they just make up whatever number is needed.

for example they need to ship 2.8 million this quarter, you can bet they will report they did exactly that.

That some people still believe crap like that is just sad...

you have fallen with very bad info. No company can lie about these numbers.

Not exactly true, companies can (and occasionally do) but if it is noticed it will probably end the company.

It's not so much they get noticed, but that a company that continually pumps up its own numbers and lies about its debts can only sustain itself for so long.  After awhile the company collapses in on itself.
