Forums - Nintendo Discussion - *Nintendo Published 3DS Launch Simulation Madness?*

I'm pretty sure that simulation means its definition. Go look it up everyone ;)

Around the Network

Flight sims are games that try to simulate the real controls of an airplane. They often have complex controls and a high learning curve, but are rewarding once you figure them out.

Steel Diver was actually born out of Miyamoto's desire to create a flight sim, although he ended up doing a submarine because the speed of it would allow for an easier learning curve.

Pilotwings is not a flight "sim" because it does not simulate the real controls of an airplane. It could be categorized as a flight "action" game.

Nintendogs is considered a sim only in the same manner as The Sims or Simcity. I've always considered those strategy games, but everyone calls them sims for some reason.

Next thing you know, people are going to tell me Simcity is real life sim where I can box up the sim with 4 walls and starve it to death or cheat on its partner with the rest of the neighbours.

Okay okay, the later may not be farfetch.

next, you will tell me that Paper Mario 3D will be a 'turn based plumber with a hammer sim'

All I wanted to know was how people thought about the Nintendo Published 3DS Lineup being all Simulations. It has turned into a "Your wrong & I am right" thread.

Also, everybody is allowed to have different opinions and mine is that all 3 are Simulations. All the websites I have been to seem to agree.

Nobody disagreed about Nintendogs Plus Cats so I didn't provide links. PilotWings Resort and Steel Diver are both Simulations according to those sites. Again, you can have your own opinion as I like to call some games a different genre if I don't agree with the websites but I actually do agree that all 3 are Simulations.(They look like it to me)

Anyway, lets change the topic. If you agree with them all being Simulations or not...the question is now:

Do you like the 3DS Lineup from Nintendo? Again, as I have already said...none of them are my favorite games but they look interesting and so I like the lineup. I have never played a PilotWings game before so I might try it and Steel Diver is new but Nintendogs I had for the DS and enjoyed it.
