So I finally finished the game. I actually got a situation with which I am extremely happy, everything seemed to work out well. I have to reapeat, Quen is by far the best thing to happen in this game. I went swordsman, and then put the rest of my points into magic, specifically the two that upgrade Quen to ridiculous levels. By the end i woudl jsut put it up and wade into a group of baddies, just slashing left and right, and if I got hit I lsot no damage and 3 of them got stunned. The AoE sword ability is also absolutely sick. Played it on Hard and I died about 14 times on the very first encounter. After that I only died if I made some weird mistake here or there. Quen!

Chapter 3 was also a huge pain in the ass to navigate and get to wehre you need to. What's sad is that i thought chapter 2 sucked ass in that regard and I didn't think it would get any worse.

2 days that was quick

So how long do you think it took you? Also did you try complete all the side quests or just followed the story to the end?

27 hours and somwhere aroudn 20 mins. I did do absolutely every quest I ran into and spent good amounts of time in towns hunting thigns down. I failed one basic monster hunting quest at the very very end (eventhough i think I found all the things I had to destroy) and that was because the town is just fuckign stupid when it comes to finding things you need. Also I feel like there was some form of riddle involved and it is 4 am so I didn't even want to waste more time on it. Other than that, any quest I found I finished (some are just plain terrible without any walkthrough up online) and I feel like I hunted just about every possible quest given my path.

Also there are some choices which could mean a compeltely different game after the first chapter, but I am not entirely sure since I didn't do any backtracking, I just winged it and came out pretty good.

I am so glad this came around, this makes Dragon Age 2 look even worse than the bucket of shit it was (because you can actually compare this fighting with DA2), so I don't even know how to insult Dragon Age 2 properly now.

Edit: I am still pissed about the removal of the sex cards. I am however kind of surprised just how much the game got away with with an M rating and not an AO, it definitely pushed it very far.

Edit 2: I decided to download Fabel 3 because I was pretty sure it is crap in comparison, and I am so glad I did so. Just stick with Witcher 2. It also as SecuROM and I didn't want to get computer AIDS for no good reason. The UI of the wiutchr is kind of really shitty though, I don't know what they did there....

i m sorry but this is still weird to have no official thread while we are so close from the release ... that made no sense to me

too bad my pc is bugged and keep having problem playing ...sc2 !

I think this thread will serve well enough as an official thread

then the author should ask to "retitle" it as the official thread

whatever, I realize I never finished TW1 and ... I dont understand why ... the game was good but, at some point, I felt lost as if I didnt know what to do in priority between different choice (I stoped close to a point where there were wyvern nid to clean)

perhaps i shoudl try to replay it ... I may have saved the save

Yeah it was enjoyable, it was better than thw withcer, except for the UI. It's also probably the first RPG I finish in a while.

Really happy that I can run it on high with no stutters. They really stepped up with this game.

What kind of system are you running? Also how is the combat with a gamepad?

i7 860 2.8Ghz

8GB DDR3

HD Radeon 5850 1GB VRam

Combat is great with the Gamepad. I definitely prefer it over the mouse and keyboard setup. (That's a personal bias though because I kind of suck with that setup)

May I ask at which resolution are you playing? The reason is that I also have a 5850...

Everything is on High. The only thing I have disabled is motion blur because I just don't like it.

Thanks, but I was asking for the res of your screen. Do you play at 1680*1050 or 1920*1080? Higher? Lower?

Oh lol i'm only on 1440 x 900. That's all I can afford atm. :(

Thanks. Mine is 1920*1080 so maybe disabling motion blur (I usually don't like it) and ubersampling will make it for me. BTW I have an 15 750 @ 3.0Ghz ang 4 Gb RAM

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

funny how you talk

you look some how "blazed" by only using the word "enjoyable" compared to the bunch of teen claiming "best game eva ZOMG GOTY"

Fun game, runs well on my overclocked 4890/c2q @720p.

The comat has definately taken a page from Demon's Souls. I've only beat the prologue, but I can say that the combat is massively better than witcher 1.  Since this killed the first for me, I couldn't be happier with how they handled it this time around.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

Just started playing, great game so far. Definately blows DA2 out of the water.

It runs reasonably well on medium on my 1 year old Geforce GT 230 at 1280x1024. I turned light shafts on but all blur effects off (hate them), bloom disabled (also annoying) and ssao disabled (too slow) for good framerates. Too bad it's not optimized for quad core, half the cpu is running idle during the game.

I would like a full screen option without the black bars and bigger fonts though. Some of the text is almost unreadable. No point in playing this on the tv with the tiny font.
