Hey, windbane! You ready to attempt to rip a new one on shams? He's blaspheming some nonsense about some non-PS3 technology actually making Lair look ho-hum...

First off

That is the 4th dimension.

It's not much to look at... I personally wouldnt want a 4d game... mainly because we can only see on 3 dimensions.

Second.your mother - wtf. ramble ramble ramble ramble. That's what your doing."
Third. Windbane... same to you. ramble ramble ramble.

Shams - I read somewhere that there are versions of Crysis coming to PS3/360. Also, Crysis does not surpass UE3. The UE3 engine will have better indoors, and small room/enviroment graphics. Crysis will just smash the world when it comes to massive outdoor enviroments.

They seem to be saying that it uses some DX10 shaders that PS3/360 cant handle. However the PS3 is fully capable of doing the shaders, sony just needs to create them. (or use OGL) Maybe turn a few of the 'max' features off. But then again, I'm starting to wonder if crysis could run on a single 8800GTX very well... at least with everything turned on.

No, because it's not surprising at all that Crysis looks better.  It's meant to hype direct x 10, is a FPS, and will hardly be playable on current PCs (and just like every "next-gen" console and every PC for that matter...the second it is made it is outdated, so new PCs will of course produce better graphics and we've both said that).

What happened with you is comparing 2 different game types, admitting that different game types don't make for direct comparison, and then instead of admitting that you argued the same thing I did you are just sticking to the fact that the screenshot looks bad to you.  Well, ok, but that's not why the conversation went off on a tangent.  I quoted the beginning of that, all you did in response was quote your first comment which doesn't address what I was proving in that you changed the topic.

The screenshots and videos look great to me, but I'll see most of the game in a few months either way.

great PS3/360 graphics comparison.

Crysis could very likely be like EQ2. Graphics can be so amazing. But a dual 6800GT cant do the game at max. I quit before I bought my new system, but I'm willing to bet, it probibally couldnt run EQ2 @ max.

Just because you see a video that looks amazing, dont mean your computer can do it, or infact, any computer.

Kwaad, if you aren't going to read it and respond intelligently then don't criticize it by saying we ramble. That just shows you didn't read it all, which I understand, but not everything can be said in short Hemmingway-esque phrases. Sorry, heh.

Btw, I would be very intrigued if the PS3 could pull off Crysis.  I'm sure the RAM requirements alone would limit the PS3 (and 360).  A port might happen, though.  I'd be fine with that because I liked the gameplay of Far Cry.

I didnt say shutup, and I didnt say you werent holding points. I'm just saying. DAMN LONG WINDED!!~~~

I built my computer for Crysis, the more I read about it, the more I'm thinking I'm probibally not gonna get it. (mostly because of me not upgrading to Vista in the near future)

I am actually undering going a linux conversion on my PS3, once it's done, I'm gonna move to installing it on my PC.

(When I get my 7.1 sound system later this week (hopefully) it will hook into my PS3 direct via HDMI. So the audio will be unbeatable. And thus I'm gonna use it to play anything/everything the XMB cant do.)

And then linux for the PC, just because my version of windows is sick and dying agian. I can do almost everything with linux, without the fear of spyware/adware.

Keep windows for gameing... exclusivly.

EDIT: my 4D thing was someone saying that the 360, or PS3 or something was gonna do 4d. I just thought that was funny.

Fair enough.  And yeah, 4-D isn't really a claim I'd ever take seriously.

LAIR people LAIR!

"Second.your mother - wtf. ramble ramble ramble ramble. That's what your doing."

Oh, boy, who's this complaining about?

"No, because it's not surprising at all that Crysis looks better.  It's meant to hype direct x 10, is a FPS, and will hardly be playable on current PCs (and just like every "next-gen" console and every PC for that matter...the second it is made it is outdated, so new PCs will of course produce better graphics and we've both said that)."

Wow... you actually are agreeing with me? Then what's with my original statement that the screens I pulled for GoW looking better than that PoS screen with those armored dudes? Is it the fact that the Xbox360 was responsible for those screens?

"What happened with you is comparing 2 different game types, admitting that different game types don't make for direct comparison, and then instead of admitting that you argued the same thing I did you are just sticking to the fact that the screenshot looks bad to you.  Well, ok, but that's not why the conversation went off on a tangent.  I quoted the beginning of that, all you did in response was quote your first comment which doesn't address what I was proving in that you changed the topic."

So... Crysis all of a sudden is in the same game type as Lair... I didn't know Lair was a FPS!

As far as I'm concerned, I said that the (now infamous) Lair screenshot sucked. You somehow didn't like the fact that I used manure and flies to compare that screenshot and GoW's. I clarified that I didn't think the screenshot lived up to the PS3 hype (and I still don't - opinion! Opinion! I like blueberries, you like strawberries!) and you started working on my case. Well, it takes two to tango.

"The screenshots and videos look great to me, but I'll see most of the game in a few months either way."

Oh, unless I go blind, I should be seeing the game in a few months as well, either way.
