with it at 8.41 at the end of the 23rd, and it having sold only slightly over 600k, there is no chance of 9m. I would guess around 8.8m

The PS3 is following almost exactly the same line as the 360. If people consider the PS3 a failure for selling the same as the 360 then surely the 360's a failure too? Personally I think all this generation's consoles are pretty successful.

i don't think its going to reach there... until or unless Others numbers are much above then expected ... which i think is not possible...

but will be pretty close 8.85 to 8.93...

At this point, no, it needs 600K and that's not going to happen, as its after Xmas, last week was its last chance to get into range

One thing for sure it will break 9 million somewhere in the next two weeks..

After all it was a okay year for PS3 especially because of the lovers in Europe.  The only thing that PS3 really needs next year is RPG's to attract more customers especially in Japan.

It needs 591,2k so will be very very close but about 8,95 is more likely.

 Agreed, especially when the 360's only competition was the PS2, of course people will say that Sony had to take some desperate measures to acheive this, but that does not matter

Not quite but very close .

In any case theres a possibility some "Others " data or even NA data will be updated and in that case it can reach it .For example the PS3 was undertracked for november about 75K for NA and after what french sources say the console had already passed 400K some 2-3 weeks ago .If this kid of data is adjusted the console can reach and even surpass the 9 million in the first year .
