Forums - Sales Discussion - The fate of the PSP

About 6 months ago, I heard that a PSP mobile would be published in 2008 Q1-Q2. Now it looks like that concept won't be announced so early, but on the other way they already have a lot of information about how the PSP mobile will be, so I guess it's possible that it will come out at the end of 2008, or maybe 2009. It will be mostly called a phone with game abilities, and the graphics won't be so much different than the current PSP. The only new thing will be the phoning possibility.

I'm quite disappointed that it will ONLY have a 3.2 Mpix camera, which my current mobile also has.

Not to mention that Piracy isn't the PSPs problem. It's that the PSP only attracts people who pirate. It's eaiser for the average joe to buy a hacking device for the DS then it is for them to find PSP hacking software. If the PSP's firmware was unhackable it's software sales would remain about the same and it's hardware sales would crash.

Hmm, I couldn't agree more. In fact piracy helps Sony to sell hardware. Probably software sale would be on pair with other systems if we skip people who bought PSP exclusively for hacking.

Ummmm thats a fake concept you know ... Its still not certain that it will come out , and if it will it will probably have PSone quality graphics IMO , because the advanced mobile phone capabilities will allready cost a lot :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Anyone knows if Sony makes profit for each PSP sold, or if they lose money on each PSP sold? The PSP with all its components looks expensive.

Ever thought that ds owners will move up to psp? Since the psp is more nexgen than the nexgen nintendo handheld?

You really, really don't understand why people buy DS or Wii, do you?

Gamestop's summer ad, since some people apparently missed it.

first off they dont need to make a new psp.

Why? You cant go any higher in handheld graphics.

It so advanced it basicly upgrades its self, its now a radio/camera/interent/music/photo/playstation device.

Pretty soon Im sure they will add phone features.

You can go higher in handheld graphics, but at a higher price. Duh.

Can you be any dumber or fanboyish than you already are?

PSP2 will use mini-Blu-ray discs able to hold 14GB each. (they exist TDK has shown them off before)
