dumb ^^ microsoft said they updated the tech on kinect games that you can be sitting down only the launch games had to stand up because the update wasnt their at the time

ya... and thats with a minimalistic approach of using kinect, which i said would be better.

not that i would play it, but dance central comes to mind, can you think of a way for it to be played while sitting down? if you have to move around at all it'll be quite impossible to sit and play dont you think? if it catches on and more games are designed to be played while standing ill be sad='(

I find kinnect interesting, but so far no game interests me in the least for it.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Im pretty sure it is designed for the obese populations of the world, hence every motion controller there is a fitness game. I think it is meant to stop people doing what you said you appear to like, just sitting on the couch playing games...

Awaiting the arrival of imminent trolls, as is the case with most MS related threads.

On topic, of course it will be new and innovative. That's how it is, if people actually thought that the release titles for Kinect (KA, KS, DC etc) were the limit of hardware they will be sorely disappointed, it's no surprise that something exciting will be revealed eventually later on in it's life cycle, question is, will they make something that would be accepted as hardcore by the community?

I believe we've said all we have to say. Now there will only be passive observing.

It's going to take time for paradigms to be broken, with developers and gamers.  But developers want to make money so that'll hopefully drive some of them to get creative.  Gamers?  Some will never give it a chance, but those that do seem to have fun with it as is.  It'll only get better from here.

why does that have any relevance to what i asked you? did you even read my post? the second part was direct to the other person that i quoted...

and btw, video game developers arent all involved in trying to prevent obesity, theyre just making games. its been shown that fitness games can sell well and the development cost for them are very low. its a good business move, nothing more.

why are you giving me a hard time for not like the same thing that you like? god damn lay off buddy, i gave my opinion and thats that, if you dont like it dont cry, just move on

It is involved because you said you want to just sit on the couch, that is exactly the type of medium that gaming is stuck with.

I am not giving you a hard time for your opinion, I am questioning why you are severely criticising Kinect for something that very few people should care about.

gaming isnt stuck on the couch, gaming is on the couch because thats where a majority of consumers want it to be. i stand at work all day, get home and run around with my kids. at night, when i play games i want to relax, not jump up and down looking like a jackass.

something that very few people should care about? didnt you start the conversation saying that too many people care about it?

i bring forth my evidence!

Regardless how many developers support it, we are gonna mostly just see simple casual games because that's what Kinect users want. Which I'm fine with because Kinect has made casual party titles more enjoyable than ever.

I look forward to seeing the core games, but they'll likely have modest sales. So don't worry, joysticks aren't going anywhere. Atleast not for core gaming.
