PS3 is getting somewhat of an indirect price cut. Sony announced today that the system's "HDD Recorder Pack 320 GB" package will see a price cut from ¥39,980 to ¥35,980 starting tomorrow (March 1). The HDD Recorder Pack includes the following items: a PS3 with 320 gigabyte hard drive, a Torne DVR recorder device, a Dual Shock 3, and power, AV and USB cables. The bundle was first released on November 18, 2010. Joining the original HDD Recorder Pack, which includes a charcoal black PS3 system, Sony will also be releasing a version with a Classic White system. This will be released on March 10, priced ¥35,980 as well. Like the charcoal black device, Sony lists the classic white version as being set for limited quantity release. All this activity is part of a new campaign called "Imada! PS3 Campaign" (roughly, "Now! PS3 Campaign." From March 10 through April 17, those who buy a PS3 system will be entered into a drawing to win one of 10,000 Blu-ray movie disks. Winners will be able to select from 20 movies. http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/02/28/ps3_dvr_pack_price_cut/ Searched and didn't see any thread about this.
