Marijuana is not a drug. It is a plant that grows in the ground.. Drugs are synthetic substances made to recreate the effects of a natural compound because you cannot patent a plant or other naturally occurring substance.

Also along with THC they have now found that our brains produce Cannabinoids. These chemical compounds are produced by us and are also present in Marijuna. For example a Cannabinoid in our body that keeps us from having seizures is present in marijuana which is why a lot of seizures patients find relief from smoking marijuana. Truth is even major pharmaceutical companies see the benefits of marijuana as they are all rushing to patent synthetic versions. They have had marijuana pills for a while now but those were just synthetic THC. Now they are rushing to patent each cannabinoid they find.

They are wasting billions in research to mimic a plant when we should be allowed open access to it. Patients are suffering needlessly and waiting on a drug that could help but will cost them a lot when it does come. This is why a lot of states are allowing medical marijuana even though Federal Law has it classified as a completely useless drug with no medical benefits while Crack and meth are rated higher and some how have a medical benefit and can be prescribed.

wow i got a whole thread to catch up on, just noticed this and figured i would mention that ive been a liscensed medical user for the last 3 years. But i dont live in the US, I have the advantage in living in BC. Without it my quality of life would be significantly impacted.

to at a little to listerofsmeg's post, cannabinoids, or CBD's have even been shown to reverse cancer growth in some types of cancer. you dont get close to enough by smoking it, but edible concentrates are available with hundreds of users who have had great success, including Tommy Chong.

And i have also used the Synthetic THC pills, infact i have a bottle in my bathroom. They dont work nearly as well as the real thing, not even close and make you far more drowsy then smoking a joint will.

i used to before i got my card,  I spent alot of time trying to find one that was punctual.  When i finally did a few months later they were busted.  funny thing was even the cops mentioned how punctual they were with the meet up,  always hard to find a dealer that can keep track o time properly.   Now i get everything from my dispensary, and while they have delivery, i prefer going in and having a look at what im buying,  plus they treat me like a VIP cause well.. a big tolerance demands alot of weed

I'm a legalization advocate as well as a longtime NORML member.  I cant wait for 'MURICA to stop wasting $$$$ and mexicans lives over our drug wants, it's horrible man.  They need to just get over their problem with weed and legalize it already.

I think they should make it legal, but only if they make it naturally without all of the added stuff, and they discourage the use of it, as well as not allowing television advertising, just like cigarettes. They should also restrict it to adults. Either way, legal or not, I wouldn't use marijuana, it doesn't appeal to me at all (same with cigarettes and alcohol).

We just waste too much $$$$$ over this by putting people in jail and prison over something that is harmless.  Obama could put that $$$ towards children's schools or medicare or a number of things more useful than the waste that is going on.

Smoking marijuanas is bad for you

i would not mind moving to colorado, some family went there to visit some other family and they could not smoke cigs at the red rock amplitheater, but you could joints. Its a amplitheater carved into the side of a mountain in colorado. Also, if your a resident you can have up to a ounce and for non residents is a half ounce. I would love to see the rolling stones there :)
