I bet you MS has more games than Sony later this year.

....lol...I dare them to pump out over 20 core exclusives.

Sony has given us a bunch of sequels so far though. I don't know how many I can take. I want my NGP that's all I care about, and the Last Guardian.

Well the thing about third gen is that first party titles are becoming holy and third parties are mostly dying off like the plague, unless you have the IP under your control. With Gears, Microsoft doesn't own the IP. Microsoft only has a three game contract with Epic, which expires after Gears 3 launches. Sony lost the first half of the gen to Microsoft because of the loss of third party exclusives, which is why they now solely depend on their in-house first party. Sony is taking exclusives from Microsoft and now Microsoft can barely fend for itself with first parties. It's interesting how this has all played out.

As for Fable 3....Microsoft knows not what exclusive means. Anyone can get their hands on Fable now, even the pirates.

They actually had a 2 game. They might have extended it or bought the IP.

See it from both angles, Ms is very happy fending for itself, its exclusives may not be your cup of tea but they are being released. For example gun stringer, it is an exclusive that I am looking forward to, see Rise of Nightmares as well.

They are trying to push Kinect, because with Kinect and the 360 console working together many many many more games will come down the road. Ms is about the future. Sony is about now. As I said I am prepared to wait till E3. E3 we will have more of an idea. Again all this started as a rumour that MS should have kicked in the but, but nelson pushed it further.

Taking exclusives? i know of only one lately, and that was mass effect, why does this deserve a plural.

this. Thankyou for joining my chill pill brigade haha

look at last year: Sony huge 2nd half : LBP2, SOCOM4, GT5, MOVE:  but we only got GT5 and some crappy move games.

I was going to reply with saying how that only happened one year. But after looking at past years, Sony has delayed about 2 games every year.

I think we can guarantee Uncharted and Resistance releasing this year. I also think twisted Metal might release this year but then again Jaffe has lied before.

And yet someone like Mantlepieck... would he consider that to be delaying because of scarcity in 2011, the double standards of some of the people in this site is absolutely amazing.

Ms has got stuff coming fact. Why is it a necessity they announce it today as opposed to E3... this doesnt make sense.

Except that MS didn't delay a game, the delayed the announcement. Big difference.

Its not a necessity they announce it today though. They actually said wait for E3, instead of GDC because they didn't want to disappoint again.

Ms delayed Gears, pure and simple. Epic has said it was ready. In fact I dont even know why there is a beta, but Ms delayed it. With connection to that, they delayed an announcement clearly involving gears/epic. Thus being everything to do with it.

E3 has not been a disappoint for MS for a few years imo. disappoint again? come on man, you can do better than that.

lets see

343 Industries: Halo 4 most likely, probably be a teaser/trailer at E3 release xmas 2012

BigPark: Kinect games

Good Science Studio: Kinect games

Lionhead Studios: A new IP inspired by uncharted by the sounds of things and hopefully a new Black & white games, come on if any game is perfect for the Kinect it's this one. Don't expect anything other than Fable 3 PC this year and some DLC, I doubt anything big will come in 2012 ether though they usally release a game every 2 years but a new IP will probably take longer, we may see a smaller XBLA game possible bassed on Milo & Kate tech.

MGS Mobile Gaming: Windows Phone 7 games

Rare Ltd.: Kinect games/Avatar related products

Turn 10 Studios: Forza 4

Xbox Live Productions: XBLA titles and general XBL development

Microsoft Games Studios: Microsoft flight for PC

And that is what they are working on...

I meant the GDC, not the E3. If MS said that "there's more to come at GDC", they could have kept some fans quiet but they didn't because they aren't most probably going to announce anything at GDC.

Which is why they said to wait for E3 now itself, which is 3-4 months earlier.

How's this?  MS is working on consistently making Xbox Live the best online service available for consoles. MS is working on improving the highly entertaining Kinect peripheral.  MS is working on brand awareness of the Xbox - promotional giveaways, comic books, movie shorts, board games, action figures, shirts, decals, merchandise merchandise merchandise!  I think all of the above certainly provides depth for both hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike.  They are focusing themselves as being more than video games all while brining the world of video games to the mainstream public.  If they are already spending all this money on the development of their killer system, why should they have to be developing games constantly for it also?  The games they do publish typically come out as wickedly addictive and easily marketable.. sounds like a smart strategy to me!

not sure if serious.

also what does that have to do with game development studios

I agree that Ms shouldnt hype events, they work better when they dont. That is unless they have substance haha
