Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So what exactly IS Microsofts first Party working on? Losing the Core gamer?

Well in 2009 they had Halo Wars, ODST and Forza 3.

Last year, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Fable III ( which isn't an exclusive anymore ) and Reach.

This year : nothing for the first six months, and Forza 4 / Gears 3 this fall with maybe a Halo CE remake.

For me their 2011 line-up looks just as bad as the last two years.

Plus they're focusing on Kinect right now, and people shouldn't expect anything from E3 except and Halo 4 announcement from 343 Industries.

Splinter Cell Conviction: announced 06/01/2009 or 01/06/2009 (again I'm not totally sure), released 13/04/2010

ok thats quite a few games and this took me nearly an hour so I'll stop there, if you want add any games feel free to make it more complete,

well there is some truth to the notion that Microsoft announces their exclusives the year they are released, but that only really applys to Rare and Turn 10 titles, most others are known about roughly a year and a half before release, so with Turn 10 doing Forza 4 for this year, I think the only other chance you have with exclusives this year are from Rare, and those are likely to be Kinect titles anyway.

Halo ODST was announced the October 09 2008, at TGS.

Banjo September 27 2006 at the X06.

Blue Dragon May 02 2005 in the Shonen Jump.

Lost Odyssey May 17 05 at E3.

Splinter Cell Conviction May 23 2007 at a Ubisoft conference.

Hmm I don't agree, last year we had Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake and Splinter Cell: Conviction in the first half, with Crackdown 2 shortly after. To go from that to nothing ...

kinect exclusives are still exclusives, why are some people bypassing these games? I just dont understand this logic....

Everything you say about 360 announcements would be better if they carried sources

They're not even on the same par as core exclusives. I'll likely get some, but they don't substitute what I got a 360 for ...

I can vouch for splinter cell. That damn game was in development for like 4 years (and I think they hadn't yet decided its platforms at that time) so it definitely was announced a long time back.

Don't know about anything else.

There will be some core like gun stringer does look quite like a core game, not bad for a xbla imo. It is just to everyones taste. The word core is just stupid when it comes down to it, if games indeed do sell the system and these are selling the system then wouldnt they be "core" games.

Just wondering.
