Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Just Dance. WTH Happened???

@galaki  so a MOTION game that doesnt do a good job of tracking is a ok despite the fact that it doesnt do a good job of tracking the MOTION??? Cool, I guess but Id much rather devote my time and money into a product that actually tried to get the motion part right. but to each his own

I know this is a joke thread, but my wife just decided to buy Just Dance 2 over this last weekend when we were having a little get together and it is really fun. I wouldn't play by myself, but as a party game it is a really good time.

You're just going in circles here.

As I said. For this game, the purpose isn't to accurately track players.

Surely, you remember that video games is meant to be fun and enjoyable?

I re-quote my reply so you can't miss it again.

So that's why more people have gone out and bought the sequel when they experienced the broken controls of the first game. These dancing game work (same control problems are brought up in reviews from similar games), you just have to take into account rhythm, timing and movements (also repetition helps); and some people just don't have that.

For example, I saw the other day in gametrailers motion section review Beat Sketcher for the PS3 Move, and the reviewer didn't get the controls, but they where reasonable easy draw and click taking into account timing. Since she sucked at it, she couldn't recommend it, although I'm sure the game is a good value for 10 bucks!

EDIT: And Galaki is somewhat right in what he is saying. He means that your sucking while dancing won't affect much your gameplay while playing with others; you might shout "Why isn't this working?" while doing an outrageous move and having a blast moving around your partner.

The problem comes from the player and not the tracking itself.

whats even more of a crime is how the casual crowd can ignore a game like singstar dance even though its much better and much cheaper, my gf got her copy for £12, singstar dance teacks your body and yoour move, and it actually has proper moves, shock horror

Um, this shows the series has never been particularly big to begin with, but it was bigger on the PS2 than the PS3. This is likely due to the PS3 having as much neglect for genres like dance and party as the Wii has had neclect for genres like shooters and sandbox. The PS3 needs more games like that for the audience to come instead of Singstar being one of the few examples on the system.

@tomatito  you like the game and thats fantastic, really. i just game my points on why i didnt care for it, I see your points about it being fun, but for me id rather know that im sucking at something cause I suck not because of some flaw in the game design. and players should not be blamed for developers flaws, a dev makes a mistake and im expected to take it and work around it

Well at least with the secong game, the control is better. But reviewers still blamed it on the game.
