I dunno, pretty likely, that would just kill the price cut effect, a late 2011 price cut will give them solid holidays.

M<icrosoft releasing the Slim didn't kill the effect

If all they have is a pricecut, then sure, bring it at the en d of the Year. If they have more, which I expect them to, then a Summer cut to stop the huge downward spiral should happen.

Most probably would want Nintendo to hold off till holiday time for the cut.  However, I don't really know of too many blockbuster games that are coming out during summer (haven't looked at the lineup yet but I am sure most of their games are going to be released late in the year during holiday season).  So a price cut during the summer might be the best idea as long as they have some "must have" games being released during the holiday season.

They should cut price soon considering how bad sales are right now

It'd be wasteful to cut price near the holidays since it's almost guaranteed to sell millions regardless

I'm surprised that they've only cut the price once.  I understand things are going well for them like never before, but isn't the 360 200 as well?

Maybe they'll price cut when Skyward Sword comes out to try and stimulate some interest for the Wii Sports Resort people to make the jump to something a bit more specialized (similar mechanics, but for specifc story, setting, etc...).  But yeah, they're in last place in weekly hardware for like...the first time ever?

When they announce the Wii 2 and Wii redesign after at E3.

Formerly known as LuStaysTru but that was back when I still knew my password.

Three options I can see:

A) Cut the price with the 3DS being released.

B) Cut the price with Wii Relax being released.

C) Cut the price with Zelda being released.

I think the smartest thing would be to enact a price cut with Wii Relax as that is a product that can really push hardware (if it comes out and is a success).

We don't really know if a vitality sensor can push hardware until we see the software for it.  It's been pushed back and hidden so much that I think it's now back on the "conceptual back burner."  Meaning I think they may have delayed it to see if it's general idea will be implemented else where, like for the next home console, or to come out in a different way other than a finger thingy.
