Forums - Microsoft Discussion - More than half of Xbox 360 owners own Halo 3.

According to NPD numbers, 52% of Xbox 360 owners in NA have bought Halo 3 as of November. Thats pretty amazing considering I remember debates on VGChartz argueing the attachment rate wouldn't pass 40 % .

America sales just posted, and it looks like another week of strong sales for all consoles leading up to Christmas.

What do the rest play?

So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?

Everyone thought every person on 360 would buy halo 3.

mM

Well I guess everyone was wrong then. Only half bought Halo 3...Or maybe your just wrong

Actually your wrong......If you looked at the software of Halo 3 compared to the hardware. You can see that Halo 3 didn't get every single Xbox 360 owner.

Question is how many of them think Gears of War is a better game. I know my brothers and I do. Granted we only count for one of over 5 million.

Its all in the marketing that MS does oh so well.

Still it is amazing that it has such a high attach rate. Has any non bundled game accomplished this?

I wonder what the attach rate for it will be at the end of this gen. If it's still 50+ I'll buy microsofts next system no matter what. (If they make another system, that is.)

Bet with OriGin: Within 1 year Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be ahead of Mario Kart Wii (when aligning the one whole year from each region). 2 week ban from Vgchartz for the loser. Edit: Darn! Looks like OriGin will win.

I wonder if that % will increase or decrease over this generation.. I figure increase.

Thats a good question ssj12. I think over the next few years the price will drop drastically making it easier to buy. However, if the xbox 360 expands into different age groups and types of gamers over its lifespan I think it will drop.

Might I add, Microsoft might bundle the game in future SKU's....or they might keep Halo 3 priced at $60 for its entire lifespan, like they did with Halo and Halo 2 last generation with the original Xbox.

Microsoft sure knows how to find a way to get money....
