How many more true classic franchises will the consoles corrupt?

It's been known for months that Blizzard have been trying to hire some people to fiddle with console ports, nothing to see here.

However, I laugh in the face of people that actually think a console port would do any damage to the PC version. Don't tell me you guys actually believe that the PS1 version of Diablo 1 hurt the PC version's sales?!

To be honest, how would a console version compare to the PC version though? No Battle.net, no patches, no mods, no longevity, worse gameplay, etc... it's Diablo 1 all over again.

Yes, a lot of people, myself included, will want to play this on PC. Some people will want to play it on x360/ps3 which is fine too. The problem you (and vlad321) have is this wierd superiority complex about pc gaming. To you guys, pc gaming is this mythical entity which mere console folk cannot possibly understand or enjoy, probably due to a lack of skills.

No, what I don't understand is why someone would want to play a vastly console port if they can play it the superior PC version (usually). At least that is what some people here are claiming, by saying that a console port would steal sales from the PC version.

some peoples brains just dont operate at that level its like they cant process the superior version and their hands are too uncoordinated for keyboard and mouse so they need a controller for their primitive meathooks

i really want to play this on PC, but i very highly doubt my PC will be able to handle this game at all. may have to go with the console version. not a big loss i guess. as long as they make the controls work well, include all the content(including later expansions), and add a good online, ill be perfectly fine with this.

Co-op on the same machine. That's why I played diablo 1 on the ps1.. Even though I played diablo 1 and 2 on the pc aswell.

Another thing you might concider is that some people have consoles that vastly outmatch their pc's ..

And finally, it is very enjoyable to sit on the couch with a controller playing. YES you can set a pc up to do that, but the experience if often inferior.

I'll be playing this on my pc.. But my pc is pretty awesome. I might concider the console version aswell if it has the same co-op feature diablo 1 had.
