This Week In "I'm a Major Game Creator and I Can't Get a 3DS"Think Nintendo sends these things out to top developers? Maybe not!Posted Feb 17, 2011 at 00:14, By Anoop GantayatThe last time we played "I'm a Major Game Creator and I Can't Get a 3DS," Capcom's Yoshinori Ono, producer of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, also known as Super Street Fighter IV The Only Launch Title That Matters, told us that he would be lining up on launch day as he'd been in Europe for a 3DS-related event when Nintendo had started up pre-orders. Ono isn't the only major producer who's going to have to go through some hurdles to get a system on the 26th, though. Imageepoch CEO Ryoei Mikage posted at Twitter today that he's never pre-ordered a game system before and is in the group who will give up if he can't pick up the system at launch. "I'll buy it when I can buy it," said Mikage. Mikage and Imageepoch don't have a launch game on the way, but Mikage has in the past given some indicated that 3DS will be a focus for his studio. Imageepoch is known to be working on a "strategy RPG" of some form for the system. This is scheduled for release in 2012. I assumed Nintendo would give VIPs like Ono and Mikage 3DS systems well ahead of launch. You know, help fuel their creative engines and all. But I guess not! I'm going to be on the lookout for Ono, Mikage, and maybe even Miyamoto on launch day. |
Eh? Devs don't get the retail version of 3DS shipped to them?
