Well well welll...I would like abroZ to say some words right now:

DS: 3,987,419
3DS: 2,873,311

More than one million of difference, and I don't see anything that would make the 3DS jump above it in the horizont (maybe Mario Kart). Sorry Zelda fans, but Ocarina 3D just won't save the 3DS, and to me, the mere idea is laughable. LOL!

Well, 3DS will have an even harder time to beat the DS now, after it's pricecut.

By the end of the year they will be almost even!

No one was especting 3DS to outsell Ds in the first year!

3Ds will have the same lifespan of Ds!

the price cut will certainly help the ds, but the handful of big nintendo titles for the 3DS should make things very interesting

well, the 3DS could be a complete flop i suppose.  i guess it depends on if anyone still cares about 3D -- from my anectocal experience with friends people seem to have stopped caring about it in a theatrical setting at least. 

but yeah, i very highly doubt that possibility.

...and if anyone were to blow up the 3DS warehouses it would be sony. 

But Microsoft would want to destroy them because handhelds are in direct competition to the Ipad/ Iphone, therefore they are a threat to  Apple, and the one that wants to personnaly destroy Apple is Microsoft and no one else.

Microsoft isn't even the strongest or most feared competitor of Apple anymore.

 

The two companies that have a shot at Apple are Google and Amazon.

They ofter a lot of technology similar to Apple, in some cases they were on the market earlier and they are competiting strongly on prices, most of the time being cheaper and a lot more open than Apple ( gotta love when everyone is amazed that they can finally get the songs they purchase on itunes on all devices automatically thanks to ICloud. I've been able to get every e-book I purchase on Amazon on every device for free for over a year( and I don't have to pay a monthly subscription for 3G..)..

On top of that they are two very powerfull brands very well liked by customers, like Apple..

Microsoft will never compete on being more opened or on price so they have no shot at Apple.



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Nintendo forecast 11 M DS and 16 M 3DS for 2012 fiscal year...

Well I guess you could always argue they don't know shit ...



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Just to say: even though with the pricecut, my prediction does not change: DSS wil still outsell 3DS.

Have you compiled the data for both so far this year?  It would be interesting so see how both are tracking...

Anyway, with the 3DS set to own this holiday (MH in Japan and Mario/Mario Kart in the west) I think it'll come out ahead.

Welll... I will not argue with them but I take back what i said!!!

Someone was indeed expecting  3DS to outsell DS!

 

I mean they will need to release a good game every 2 weeks:  mario, pokemon, zelda, animal crossing, kid icarus, mario kart, monster huinter and resident evil - to reach that amount by March!
