Sure Sony is a good publisher but their are nowhere near as good as Nintendo.  Nindendo created and published 23 of the top 25 best selling games of all times.  They have the best selling new IP of this generation in Wii Sports (not counting games that where bundled).  Also look at Wii Music the game was one of the worst new IP off all times and still went on to sell close to three million copies.  And even with its horrible hardware problems on the 360, Microsoft  managed to sell over 25 million more games when you compare the total sales of games published by Microsoft versus games published by Sony Computer Entertaiment on the 360 vs the PS3.  Also since the PSP pretty much was a flop software wise with no new major IP's its hard to give Sony too much credit this generation.

i thought we were sticking away from sales? Sure microsoft and nintendo sell a lot (microsoft relies on heavy advertising), but sony is the best at quality and variety. The only other publisher i can think of that comes close to sony is probably nintendo with their super mario galaxy, donkey kong, etc.

Quality and variety don't always turn into sales, because that's not necessarily how the mainstream work. And as far as ads go, here in the States, Sony is FAR behind MS & Nintendo when speaking about marketing...far!

i live in dallas and are you telling me you haven't seen a single halo reach commercial when that game was about to be released? what about a fable 3 commercial while watching a youtube video? Honestly the game that sony really heavily advertised this year was dc universe online and that is not on the level of mico/ninten

I barely remember seeing any Halo Reach commercials on TV when the game was released but it was heavily promoted through cross adds with Mountain Dew/Doritos.  As for the the Fable 3 adds on Youtube I didn't see any of them.  But when it comes to TV adds I see more PS3 adds then adds for any other console.
