The 2 big juggernaut 2011 exclusives.

Which will sell more lifetime?

Uncharted 1 sold 3.5 million, and Uncharted 2 sold 4.42 million.

Gears of War 1 sold 6.13 million, and Gears of War 2 sold 6.14 million.

Uncharted 3 is definitely a big underdog compared to Gears of War 3.  BUT Uncharted 3 at the time of its release will have (for a PS3 exclusive) unparalleled hype.  I think Uncharted 3 will outdo Uncharted 2 by at least a million.  And unlike other PS3 releases that don't usually do well in the US, Uncharted 3 will have the biggest sales support (likely biggest opening) from the US. 

Gears of War 2 despite bigger advertising drive/hype/ didn't outsell the 1st Gears of War until a month ago.  I wouldn't be surprised if Gears of War don't quite outsell the previous Gears of War.

So what's the question here? Which one will sell the most first week? The most lifetime? Whose butt is the cutest?

EDIT : Oh i see. I am going to give it to Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3 will be weaker in the critic acclaimz than uncharted 2 but it will go on to sell a million more maybe. Either way, the only way it will beat Gears of War 3 is with legs.

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure Gears of War will win sales wise.  The game is looking to be a big improvement over 2 and will have a large advertising campaign.  I don't see Gears or Uncharted selling loads more than their predecessor, they should sell about equal.

Well the hype for both games is huge but I see what you mean there, Uncharted 3 probably would get a rise with sales due to critical acclaim of previous titles, however we have to consider piracy in the PS3 now. I can see Gears of War 3 doing less spectacular than it's predecessors. Halo's sales is probably a proof to that. Still big but ain't what it used to be.

Halo launched with the original Xbox and is on it's 4th game and is a FPS not a TPS.  Their sales have nothing in common.  Gears is new this gen and its second game outsold its first.  Their is zero evidence that shows that Gears 3 sales will decline.  Plus, since Gears 3 is the end of the series (at least the main series) Epic is going to go all out. 

Gears 3 I think. I'm surprised so many people went with Uncharted 3. Honestly it wouldn't have even entered my mind to pose this question given there's such a huge gap in sales even between UC2 and Gears 1.

As far as sales go Gears will be ahead. Both funnnn games though. I don't have xbox otherwise i'll be getting both, ignoring my backlog.

I think uncharted 3 will be viewed as a dissapointment comared to uncharted 2. I think it will max out at 5-5.5mil, though GT5 proved even though the majority of ps3 owners are codtarts like 360 owners other games can sell a lot as well so uncharted 3 certainly could sell 6mil if it manages to exceed its sequel in quality.

I don't see any huge sales improvements between gears 2 and gears 3 either. Ya it looks prettier but all sequels do. Max out at around 6-6.5mil unless it does to gears of war 2 what uncharted 2 did to uncharted. Made a great game nearly perfect for its genre.
