Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo does Hologram at 3DS prelaunch event

i would love to see catriges again that use flash memory. But sadly this will be very expensive.

In Aus

USB Stick

4GB = $8 (were over $100 when first come out here)

64GB = $250

128GB = $620

I guess if they mass produced these things costs would come down significantly.

Let's build up some random hype! (He's using Wiimotes^^)

This is probably the most awesome real hologram I'ver ever seen in my life. Also It's the first real hologram I've ever seen.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Jesus.  That is the future.  We worry about how over population will eventually affect spacing on the Earth.  Just imagine how much space can be save with Portable Holographic Switches!  Switches for basic things like house lights like they said.  That's insane.

you're on the wrong track.

In the future. Most people will prefer a virtual holographic partner and won't be worrying about reproduction.

Imagine that, you can have sex with anyone, at your command. You'll never leave your home, ever. Unless your system broke.

Its not an actual hologram it needs the prism to make it look like a hologram but this makes it look like a fish tank it only works in two dimensions then they added depth to the 'hologram'

Conegamer - I say that the PS3 will beat the DS next week in Japan  (for hardware sales) Forfeit is control over others avatar for 1 week.

All this is was a screen with a reflective pyramid underneath it.

Stop getting so amazed, it's a technique that's been used for years, right back to old theatres when they used it to show ghosts appearing on stage.

Actually, I'm not sure if you were just joking about that, but I think you're completely right about that.  I think cutting edge technology, though not technology in general, always risks a significant portion of society turning into individualistic gluttons.  I wonder if portable imaginary sex will breach the limits though.

As for people thinking Nintendo may not pursure this with their next console... I honestly don't know.  They have not released any recent information about the heartbeat sensor thing that you put on your finger (what the hell was it called again?).  If they seriously want to take hardware that far, then maybe physical realistic holograms are not out of the question.  Now tha I mentioned the finger sensor, and of course there is the wii fit board, it would be even less suprising if they just made it a hardware peripheral.  If they can put a wii fit board at below 100 hundred dollars and make it have successful software, they could very well do the same for this hologram technology.

Vitality Sensor.

I am actually looking forward to this device to combine usage with Balance board.
