Iphone 4G or Google Nexus S if you are going the smartphone way and find the blackberries a bit boring.

i am thinking of Iphone 4

there is nothing better

NexusS is good but just doesn't look a finished product

Yea my 3 year (Canada) contract is coming to an end. My iphone 3g is showing signs of aging so will be looking into 4G if i can get without the overpriced data plans. Blackberry's are not for me. A friend in asia really wants Nexus S as it 100-200 dollars cheaper for him. It is though one of the best or easily better android phones. So yea the usual Iphone 4G or wait for 4G with another tiny but cool feature added to it.

Blackberry of course.

Don't buy an iPhone 4, there'll just be an iPhone 5 in about 6 months.

Depends on carrier.

I'd go with anything Android, though. I love mine. Even though its nearly 2 years old, its been a pretty sturdy device. Its found its way to concrete many times, and still has held up pretty well.

Gotta love the SNES/Genny emulators available. Seeing Secret of Evermore on a Galaxy S was insane.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

i live in india, there are no carrier contracts here

I just bought the HTC Inspire to replace my iPhone.

Android has its faults and plusses compared to iOS. It depends on what you want out of your phone but after a day with the Inspire, I don't see myself going back to Apple unless they drastically change their interface to keep up with Android.

Pro Android: phone choices (4.3" screens FTW), widgets (sooo nice), mountable as disk drive (goodbye thumb drive), more open platform for customization, Flash support (could also be considered a negative in my book, really)

Pro iOS: apps (Android Market is teh suck, doesn't even have Netflix support and the store is a freakin' mess), iTunes integration (better data/app management, though iTunes is bloated), future support is guaranteed (it all depends on manufacturer/carrier on Android and you could get burned)

Blackberry is a joke and Win Phone 7 just isn't ready for primetime yet. Maybe in a year it will be a viable platform choice.

If you go Android, look for a Moto or HTC phone. Do not buy a Samsung. Their OS update schedule is pathetic while HTC and Moto are tops at both hardware support and quick updates.
