Forums - Gaming Discussion - Duke Nukem Forever... Will it be worth the wait?

Nah it'll be great! No game in the world can live up to 14 years of waiting but its only been in development by Gearbox for a little while. It'll be a lot of fun and way different than the average shooter of today.

I really hope it ends up suprising people and it turns out to be great.

A lot of their work is based on the stuff 3D Realms did in the last few years before development was canned. So most of it was done before-hand and Gearbox are only really putting the finishing touches onto it and polishing it off.

Seems like a fun game. I'll eventually play it :)

I hope so. I agree no game is worth waiting 14 years.

I'll get it for PC but it better be good! :P

Oh hell yes!

All hail the King baby!

It will be good like most Duke games, but it will probably be only a one playtrough for most. 14 years of wait for this? Doubt it.

PS: previews, seem to suggest that the game will be at least decent but nothing phenomenal

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I sure hope so. I want it.

I'm glad they're going with what 3D Realms originally planned and not something way different. Should be great.

It depends on the stupidity of people.

Anyone who actually believes that the SAME game was worked on continuously for that long and should be damned-near perfect will be dissappointed.

Sane people who know the backstory and understand that THIS iteration of the game is only about 5 years old, but with graphics tech from a couple years ago will not.

I have already pre-ordered the Balls of Steel edition.  I'll be playing for the interactivity and humor of the game (not for Crysis visuals),  Nothing short of bugs or play-control issues could make me dissappointed, because I know what I am getting.
