Forums - Gaming Discussion - Crysis 2 has been Leaked!!! *ugh*

I have no words. Actually, I have some words- according to a thread of the Facepunch forums, a developer build of Crysis 2 containing the full game, multiplayer and the master key for the online authentication has been leaked, and is currently freely available from all sorts of astonishingly illegal websites. This sounds like it might be a serious tragedy for Crytek. Crysis 2 was scheduled for release on the 22nd of March, so the leaked build could be dangerously close to finished. More on this as we hear it, and thanks to RPS reader James B for letting us know.

Ok...All games are leaked to pirates. What makes this so news worthy?

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

So, this is similar to the HL2 leak, but with a more complete version of the game right? Could this lead to Crytek pushing the release date, like Valve did?

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Happens all the time. You'd think devs would find out how by now, but no!

That's why they made the game on PS360 this time.

Leaked games are inside jobs no? Unlike pirated game which is just people copying and distributing the retail version of a game. So it's Crytek people betraying their own company.

Betrayers are the worst of all kinds of bad.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

And that's why there is a console version, the first Crysis became nothing but a benchmarking tool thanks to piracy, Crysis 2 is likely to follow suit, thanks to (many, not all of them of course) PC gamers master race lol

The original Crysis sold some 3 million copies, mind you. Maybe most of it came only when the game was pretty cheap but I remember seeing news about it passing 1 million not long after release.

It's a developer version a little over a month before the full version's supposed to be released? Also, it includes a master key of some sort.
