Its not a console, its a full blown PC tablet.

Check out what PC tablets go for these days... sub 500 for this, its practically a steal. :)

I'm not sure Brazos has a tablet form factor version yet. Maybe 2012's Bobcat will.

Since you're using it as a tablet I think the choice of Intel/Windows is OK actually. 3 hours is hardly portable though, especially if it takes an hour or more to charge.

Most laptops are around that mark when it comes to battery life. Tablets should be more but windows tablets are strugling with that so far. The only other PC tablet which caught my eye is the samsung sliding PC 7.

Looks great, 8 hour battery, light and somewhat portable. But standard gaming on that will be impossible and its $699 to boot

Nah, I said "console" because I already did pay that much for one, guess which... didn't want people to catch me on refuting something I said before.

I guess that it's a steal, but I'm not a big tablet fan... heck, I don't like gadgets generally...

I don't think any Oak-trail benchmarks are out so lets wait and see...I do wish they went with AMDs C-350 CPU/GPU combo or something similar. Hopefully they make it somewhat able to play current games before they launch.


I believe the IPC hasn't changed from the original Atom platform on either graphics or CPU. The new thing is the 32nm.

Probably not...could be comparably close, but and even if it is stronger, running with Windows 7 is like running with a monkey on your back.

You could install Windows 95 on it and go all retro lol...

I didn't say that there is one, really. I just said that I'd never pay this amount... This could be a decent alternative if I had no Laptop.

Too bad the controls are crap.  Also, he's not even playing that game in the vid.  It's either just a vid or the demo vid before you press start.

Did you play it and know for sure that the dpads are crap? Or are you one of those people who wakes up in the morning and says..."I'm just going to insult the first thing I see, don't care if I don't know anything about it"

It could be a video of Quake 3 as that was from September 2010 showcase and OakTrail cpu probably wasnt ready yet.
