Are you actually morally enraged when someone pirates a game, or do you actually like to have scruples for once?

I never pirate games, but seeing people acting so high-and-mighty like this always annoys me.

That's not enough! Let's ban all people who didn't ask for permission to use the images/gifs/videos in their avvys and sigs! That would be fun.

A lot of the excuses are true though.  I would never personally buy Crysis.  Mediocre game by most game standards, just with a pretty window dressing.  Nothing worthwhile to own, but had I just built a nice PC and wanted eye candy to look at?   I would consider pirating it simply to see what all the hype was about.    I never would buy it though, especially not at full price.   If I couldn't pirate it, I just wouldn't care about it.

 

It's not black and white.   Stealing is different from copying, no matter how much people try to argue otherwise.   Business models needed to change to accomadate the current generation of gamers, music listeners, etc.   Old business models are out-dated and don't work and the huge corporations not listening to this have been punished in large part due to this. 

  I pirated a few games in my days,  but with the release of Steam...Steam has made me eager to purchase games a lot more readily.  Steam is a very good buisness model and it's worked out perfectly.   

Many people who are pirating games really would never buy the game in the first place and again it's good to realize that some people will always pirate things and have been since the dawning of time.  (Whether it's audio tapes or etc)  I say it's free advertising for the most part and only large scale piracy hurts.    

It's really an overblown issue that can be avoided in many cases.    PC games should be releasing via steam / online activation if they're that worried about piracy.

What would be the difference between a public server and a private server and i would like to know if i would be the only admin. I would also like to know if i wanted to allow my cousin to have admin on a server i rent. thx oh yes and on a private server could public people still get on it if i wanted?

Yes, but despite the same mod that pirates also happen to be a great guy (if we are thinking about the same pirating mod), so where's that theory lead you?

I'm not a big pirate myself. The only thing I download are Japanese PS2 and PSP games. Its not something that I'd flaunt, but I guess I'm 'proud' to play K-ON and Tales of Versus. I guess you can hate on me too.

So says you, you're obviously going to stick up for your friend so your word means zilch. Someone that admits to stealing all their games quite proudly isn't a "nice guy" in my book.

Even in his case, I'd like you to find another alternative. This is all pretty ridiculous and I'm not going to try and continue it further, but you definitely brought up zexen before anyone did. >_>

This is not about being right or moral.

But if you pirate just accept you do and don't justify. It's useless to expend a wall text to defend it as it's "felony", you can say why you do it, but you can't use it to say it isn't wrong.

But but but You don't understand!  When I pirate games its ok!  Don't you see how I benefit and how it isn't wrong when I do it?  Stop being selfish and think about me!  Caring is sharing!  Especially when I don't share!

Well pirates aren't taking anything away from anyone so I guess thats why they feel it's different
