Forums - Gaming Discussion - Diablo III coming to consoles?

leatherhat said:

Controls is a big factor- community is another- modability/ custom levels and that sort of stuff as well. Its no comparison really.

If you prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard (as many console gamers do), controls is not really a factor. They would most likely change the point and click controls to controlling the character with a joystick.

360 and PS3 have great online communities. Arguably the best. But no point in debating that.

Mods aren't relevant. The masses don't bother with them. Lack of mods didn't keep people from buying Oblivion on consoles.

There are a lot of 360 and PS3 owners who would love to have the game. But don't give a shit enough to play it on the PC. Not everyone has a gaming PC either.

I bought a brand new PC with SLI 580GTX. 12 GB ram and 240GB ssd HDD for this game. Like many have said, Diablo = PC

Dont do it blizzard! Don't let Activision destroy you from the inside!

Oh well, probably already happened, at least we have Heroes of Newerth and DOTA2!

Fixed!

I just hope that if true, it doesn't affect the release date for the PC version. I'm sure the quality will be fine.

League of legends is a great DOTA style game... plus its free.

Dota, and by extension HoN, is home to the 'elite of elitists'. LoL is a Dota-clone, but is generally regarded as easy mode Dota. As Lafiel put it, it really is only half of the real Dota experience. And it's not even really free. It's better to call it F2P. F2P games, while being, well, free to play, are known to be money-sinks if you want to be even remotely competitive. And considering the whole Dota-genre is very very competitive, it's only natural that people looking for a more casual Dota-type game would play LoL. Well, I guess in that sense, it is free since it appeals to the more casual crowd anyways who don't really care about being competitive.

And we're getting off-topic (totally my fault too), so I'm going to leave it at that for now.

You know, I've been thinking and I think D3 would actually be pretty cool on a console. There are more than enough buttons to do mostly everything, unless they add a whole slew of features compared to D2. I'd still get it on PC, but it's not like it couldn't work on a console this gen.

My craputer is a few years old and I am ready to make the upgrade when this game comes out... designed for PC.

If they gimp this due to a console port, I will NEVER forgive them... NEVER D:

As long as they don't dumb down the PC version, to match with the console versions, then why not?

Diablo already had a console version, and the PC version didn't suffer for it. However, it would be amusing to see Battle.Net matchups between PC and Console version players. I hope they kept something ENIGMA related, if they do, then Console players would be destroyed by any PC player owning such an armour xD.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Oh man I hope they don't do it. Diablo is a PC game and always should be, it's just the way its always been and it is where the Diablo Community is.

QFT.

Diablo on PSone was quite OK and fun IMHO.

even if they did make a console version i dont think it would had a negative impact on the pc version.

infact knowing that they will get revenue from ps3/xbox, the games budget could increase, making it better for pc.
