One of my favorite games, but it could have been so much more if the story wasn't so cheezy. The island with the lighting towers and 100 year old japanese soldiers wasn't even explained and should have been part of it. My idea for connection would be that the island has a force of some kind that makes humans live forever and have a maniacal loyalty towards their leader. That would would explain how crazy the military gets. Maybe have a cut scene showing an army/ ploice dude with his sunglasses off (they all wear sunglasses), showing glowing green eyes. The leader is using this power to amass an army. Sounds better than...oil.

I agree the story was weak and they really didn't care much about it. They thought it was not necessary.

But concerning that island, for me it was just a clear reference to LOST, and I enjoyed it as such. A misterious island, your plane crushing into it. Misterious stuff happening there. That's all. End of story.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with you that it could have been taken so much further.

Yeah that island was a reference to LOST...    It is kind of funny that their are people who never went to the Island;..Can't blame them though...The world is so huge....

I went there thanks to a mission which forced me too...

They told me there I needed to help someone out and recover a cargo which was lost. I wish I had gone by my own means though.
