oh and I think its absolutely crappy that we have not had a new Mario Tennis/and or Golf. Those games are tailor made for motion control I mean, you had that damn Strikers and that wasnt even all that

So true. The console was designed around that. And the Wii is in its twilight years, as are all the other consoles.

If Kinect wasn't released and the slim version not released, 360 would be down YoY. When we reach June/July, it'll be down heavily YoY for the rest of the year, and after that. As the PS3 is now. And the Wii. Kinect and slim saved the 360 for a few months each, but the gap is nowhere near as big as it should be over the other 2 consoles.

What does Wii need saving from exactly? It not just surpassed the Gamecube, but looks like it will end up outselling it by 500%-600%. For over two years, the demand was so high for the Wii that they could not keep them on store shelves for even minutes - this is a first in the elevctronics industry; even Apple could only manage a few months like that.

Just on the horizon: Nintendo will probably be publishing Dragon Quest X, The Last Story, and Xenoblade; there is also the Wii Vitality sensor which will replace the BMI standard in favour of a more accurate measurement of fitness in Wii Fit; and there is also Nintendo's crown jewel, The Legend of Zelda. There is also a new Kirby title, and will probably be several more titles announced for this year that no one has yet heard of.

Also, why is the focus so much on Nintendo and not the two losing consoles? The way certain journalists talk, it is as though the Wii is less successful than the Gamecube, and the other two consoles are more successful than the PS2.

I so hope you're right. That alone would re-ignite interest in the Wii and kill off the "kiddy" image which Nintendo are struggling to escape at the moment...

Why is this even being discussed? We've already established that the Wii absolutely do not need saving through it's monumental sales and that it will amost certainly win the console war, those who beleve it needs saving are deillusional. I'm much more concern about the quality, since the amount of it is low this year for the Wii.

The simple fact is that the Wii is in a natural decline due to market saturation and that the Wii is in it's twilight. After the next Nintendo home console gets released in probably Holiday 2012, the Wii will retire soon after.

Save the wii is not the proper wording as it has won this gen.

Now they can lower the wii base price and release players choice games to slow the decline of sales.

And of course more 1st party games are coming.

Can they? Yes, they could, they have the capacity to.

Will they? No.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

just price cut to 149.99 by summer, and release new colors and more bundles for the holydays and the wii will be fine

Why should the Wii be saved? Was it in danger in the first place?

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

i cant understand how any one can say the wii is doomed its currently selling the same as ps3 and 360 and already has vastly outsold both so if it droped to 50k a week it wouldnt be doomed its alreadt made nintendo shit loads of profit so it can never be doomed it also just hugely outsold both hds fo the last 3 months

Saying the Wii needs saving is like saying you need to save a guy from drowning because he put his toe in the water.
