Makes sense, MS need to push WP7 and Nokia are in need of new OS badly. If they co-operate, both of them can end up doing very well.

A merger or perhaps meeting of the minds on phones would greatly enchance both companies standing in the market place.  Nokia is the global leader, but their OS is outdated, whereas WP7 is a very good OS, but it is going to be a tough slug against both BB, iOS and Android, with palm nipping away as well.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out...A REAL WP7 device, not just another HTC port.

It's the long rumored Office for Symbian. After that WP7 bombed, it's a reasonable move for MS.

um... it didnt? Its not selling fantastically well but at least in australia more and more people are getting them. The word of mouth is spreading.

Some people have an anti-MS stance... like yourself from the looks of it. People are finally starting to come around.

O RLY?

Windows Mobile market share: Q3 2009 = 7.9% -> Q3 2010 = 2.9% (source: Gartner).

How the hell does 2009 have anything to do with the windows 7 phone, thus you are proving my statement correct that you seem to be anti-ms. I said the Win 7 user base is growing thanks to word of mouth. I never mentioned Windows Mobile as a whole. Even you in your statement mentioned Win7 phone bombed.

Why bring another topic into it?

It says right there that Q3 2010 (november) is when the stats were counted. I couldn't buy my windows 7 phone till November 11 in Canada. So The Q3 data mostly includes Windows 6.5 sales and possibly first or second week of WP7.

If next quarter results WP7 isn't at 5%-7% mark sales wise...the phones bombed big time.

What are you smoking? WP7 has not bombed, far from it, what people like you tend to forget is that Wp7 is selling at about the same rate android was when it first launched in 08,  and back then there was much less competition than there is now.

Nokia makes great hardware, MS makes software. Perfect fit. Although I wish Nokia would try more than one OS.

Samsung makes the best WP7s.. LG has the best brand exclusive software.. I'd consider those 2 makers before a Nokia WP7.. ~_n
