Demon's Souls

In my dictionary, being hardcore is not about achievements of any kind. Is just about an attitude toward gaming, regardless the trends. It doesn't matter what genres you like and play. It doesn't matter if you are the best shot in town or you try really hard but you simply suck. It's about passionately loving what you are doing and not being afraid to try it harder.

I would say pokedex, but someone beat me to it. So, I have 3 trials:

  • Complete all Mega Man games (1-10)
  • Reach HR999 on Monster Hunter Tri and never get killed in the process
  • Complete Ninjabread man
Seriously, it starts off reasonable, but the last one is impossible

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Why would someone have to play a nes(snes?) game to be hardcore?

They don't. It's just it's a well-known fact most of the hardest games ever made were in that era.

Maybe some games from that era were hard, but those games weren't the platformers on which all you had to do was to remember the levels.

Yes. These games were, well, Contra, Mega Man, Super Mario Bros. 2, Final Fantasy, Ogre Battle, to name a few

A golden age of gaming if there ever was one

I have to disagree with that. I could not call that era and especially those games golden even if I was paid to. :P

Beat a Deity game that's not vs Ghandi on Duel in Civilization IV.

90% completion of GTA San Andreas is pretty hardcore for me

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
