No. Opinion is opinion, and whilst I agree with most of what he's saying, I must disagree with him there

Yh i decided not to include art style in my final score ^^ i dont think its fair to include something that is seen differently through everyone eyes.

It is clealrly obvious TLS was made to appeal to the western gamer.It seems like a mix with western style gameplay and a mix with traditional JRPG with magic , swords, romance, and plot twists.  This is one of the reasons why the game is only 45 chapters and a 30 hour main quest. Think of TLS as a Gears of War plus Mass effect plus Final Fantasy IX type of game which is why it's very different from Xenoblade. Both are really good JRPGS and both seem to be helping each other out.

I would like to say before the reveiw that there will be NO spoilers. Ironicly enough half the point in The Last Story is the story (i know what a f**ked up world we live in :/)

one other thing xD For anyone who has ever read one of my reviews before they will know that sometimes i spend the whole thing ranting about bad things and sometimes i talk about nothing but good. It just depends what mood im in :P

The Last Story

Hironobu Sakaguchi's first major RPG title directed fully by himself in years. But the question is, can he pull of the magic he once did with final fantasy? 

Gameplay - 

For many Nintendo fans the most important part of a game (or at least if this part sucks the whole thing does realy xD....i think i might get told of for that one :P) But can the Last Story live up to the "Nintendo way". Of course it does you dumbo xD this is Sakaguchi we are talking about here! A very straneg combination of the old and the new is what you will find in TLS. At first glance the game play appears to be very much a hack and slash style game with a twist (can be compared the the game play seem in Final Fantasy Versus XIII). As apose to game such as God of War whilst your hacking away with whatever completely normal weapons your using (i use the word "normal" very VERY lightly) you will be thinking of strategies to really take down your enemies efficiently and effecivly. Simply yeah? Hah! hell no xD there are enough battle mode sin this game to make your face fall off (literally i cant find mine D:) This is one of the rare ocations when i would say a game is actually doing something innovate.. Ok so lets go through the list shall we (I would like to point out before hand that all battles are done it real time so there is no battle sequence or anything which is again very much like versus) >_> ...

Auto Mode - Auto mode is auto (or as us technical people call it, easy mode). The way this works is you essentially run at your enemies (yes you have full control over Elza's movment in battles) using the anolog stick (so used to saying "sticks" but oh well). once you are close to an enermy it will attack the enermy by default dealing damage bal bal bla you already know those parts of an RPG xD (if you dont i recomend you google RPG. though make shore to add game to the end of that :P)

Manual mode - (Yep thats right there is an auto and manual mode. When i said this game innovates i meant this game INNOVATES!) This mode is pretty simple to understand (and it the mode that esentualy branches of the best to the others) In this mode you will play it by pressing buttons (DUN DUN DUUUUN) to execute pre set attacks and moves on your enemies. I personally prefer this mode because the auto one kind of took away alot of the changeling in the game :?

Gathering Mode - This isnt a constant battle mode like the other 2 this is simple a special ability that can be used at certain points (but its like a whole different mode when being used). This is where things start getting quite interesting. So the basic idea is that you are goign to use your self as a dummy to distract your enermiy (Yh veeeeery intelligent >_>). Whilst you are trying to to die your alies will be prepering to cats devistating magic attacks on your enemy. Kind of a double edge sward really because you are increasing the chances of you dying to allow for a quicker win.

There are maaany more different "modes" that can be used such as Time Freeze (work that one for yourself ;D) and Command mode (Which can be used to control your allies) but if i right a whole section on each mode it with be Friday before this is done.

Music - 

As is common knowledge for anyone who actually reads my full reviews and doesn't skip the scores ;) this is for me one of the most important parts of a game. The music in LTS is really very good... but then i go and listen to the music in FF13 and Xenoblade and suddenly it seams kinda Sh*t :/ Dont get me wrong it doesn't detract from the games overall appeal but i was hoping for something a little more...inspirational. Despite this the music still does a brilliant job of drawing you into the game worlds.

Graphics - 

Soo...the graphics...um...well...Im kind of worried about doing this section O.o because i base graphics on two keys factors. and this game fails me in one of those regards... First of let me say that the last Story's graphics can sometimes be truly outstanding. Its not a graphicle power house that going to take the wii graphics crown for SMG2 but it will shore give it a good fight. though the character can be a little blocky sometime the environments are very very well done and the animation is for the most part very fluid. Know for the second part of the graphics section you are goign to have to remember that a review is just the opinion of someone so no hating :( (haters will hatez anyways xD).

That second section is the art style. And for me TLS's art style makes me want to punch myself in the face then go and each some children. The reason it is so hard to review this kind of this ios because art is not something that can be given an overall stature such as a score. Which is why in the final score for graphics i will NOT be including my opinion of the art style. Though it may be horrific for me others may be in love with it 9just trying to be fair xD...plus i know the Nintendo fanboys can be.... aggressive. hehe i jk..kinda :P). My reason fro not liking the art style so much is once again FF13 (yh that basted again!). Whether you liked the gameplay or story of ff13 or not doesnt matter. Unless you where a blind chip monk you could not deny that the world it was based in was a thing of beauty. The colours the buildings everything just worked together to create a world i almost wish i could be part of. TLS on the other hand is very detract of colour alot of the time and the buildings can be very generic at some points. but alas that is my opinion ^^ So F**k You! xD

One this i would like to say (just a personal hit at the fanboys ;D) i wont go on about this too much but unless you want to be putting down LTS as well, the phrase "An interacting movie" shouldn't be used to describe ff13 gain ;) This game has enough cut scenes to make ff13 proud and their length that would make Kojima jealous ;D (sorry but i couldn't resist putting this bit in :P its payback time biatch!

Story - 

The last Story has a story!! (shock horror) and a good one O: (I know this is getting weirder by the second). This section is going to be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee(more e's)eeeeeeery vague and small because this is really not a game you want to spilt ANYTHING off. lets just say. its good :D You will be happy sometimes you will be sad other (vague levels rising) and you will shoot bananas at people with a cross bow. Other than that.... northing to see here ;)

Summary - 

Overall TLS is a game you have no excuse not to buy! (unless you dont own a wii...thats a pretty good reason. Oh and not speaking Japanese is an "ok" excuse. lolz) However despite there being many things i loved they will also be equaly hated by others (such as those cut scenes i mentions ;D). I think Sakaguchi can sleep sound that he has made a game worthy of his title. here hoping for one day The last Story XIII being release so that i cna take this piss of it! (can i get a warning for saying im going to troll something that will come out in 20 years time? I hope not >_> lol i jk. Ill make up for it my trolling the PS9)

Seems a lot like the gameplay in early Y's games and Sword of Vermillion, which I find way too random for an action RPG. I think I'll stick with manual mode.

Well I know what mode to use when getting an easy battle over quickly (especially if you are level grinding with weaker enemies).

Yeah, that is one thing I noticed with this game. Not that I would mind too much, but Xenoblade and Arc Rise Fantasia at least are more colorful, and I would say that Crystal Bearers got criminally overlooked for how detailed and pretty the art style is (less impressive than FF XII my ass), just for some similar Wii games to compare art styles with.
