Forums - Gaming Discussion - FFXIII-2 To Have Travel Between Worlds and Towns

you know guys, towns isnt suppose to be a feature that the developers suppose to boast about. i mean towns for rpgs is like having a controller with buttons, its implied. if the devs over SE is really thinking that this is an achievement, thats kind of sad.

I'll remember this when anyone talk about kinect.

I could not agree more. RPG's without towns. What's next? Combat where you can't control anyone besides the main character? Oh snap!

RPG's are really going downhill really fast nowadays.

That's not it. The problem is this generation of consoles came too soon. PS2 could have lived until now, IMO. Look at RPGs on DS, PSP or Wii.

It all started with the removal of the flyable airship after FF9.  It seems better graphics made FF games more limiting rather than opening up new possibilities.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

There are a few RPG's that are still playable or even good (The Witcher also springs to mind) but as a trend, the RPG genre is in a decline (imo).

its clearly obvious which console to get this on upon release.

But FFX and FFX-2 had An Airship that you could fly anywhere you wonted to go the world map.

I believe FFXII and FFXIII were the first without Player controlled Airships in an FF Game.
