Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Comments Sales: Wut???

Sad gorilla is sad

Nintendo held an investor's meeting in Osaka yesterday to discuss the earnings. As reported at Reuters, the company said that it did not have a major hit towards the end of last year, in comparison to New Super Mario Bros. Wii in 2009. When asked about 3DS sales plans for the coming fiscal year, the company said that this will be determined after seeing how the system sells throughout the world in February and March. The 3DS hits Japan on February 26 and international markets in March.

Nintendo is getting outsoled left and right, its barely holding on worlwide sells

Its really sad :( instead of pushing more games similar to Donkey Kong Country Returns and New Super Mario Bros Wii. Nintendo keeps pushing hardcore games everywhere just for the sake of it

IT DIDNT WORK FOR THE GAMECUBE GUYS, YOU HAD TO FALL REALLY LOW TO GET BACK ON TRACK DONT DO IT AGAIN

Sigh.. i predict Nintendo losing next generation, there is.. no.. point...

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

3DS will be king. Just like the DS was.

dude, wut r u talking about? UDraw, Just Dance 2, Michael Jackson Experience are core games now?

On that subject, Wii wasn't pushed a major core game since MH3 earlier last year, and it sold pretty damn well considering your expectations for the consoles userbase. Metroid was a disaster imo, because they simplified it, when it didn't have to be.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I don't think anything will ever be able to do what New Super Mario Bros Wii did. That game was/is a sales phenomenon.

Hopefully we get a transcript of the investor briefing soon.. Apparently a new Wii game called Pandora's Tower was announced there.

There will always be another thing....the next Mario lol. Ninty's saving grace.

Nintendo can't be saved. They are even d0mming themselves.

Also I'm not sure I understand elmerion's meltdown.

Me neither, it's contradictory too, no?

Thats Nintendos biggest problem, their stubbornness.
