Today I read over the announced titles and have to say I'm abit dissapointed. All of Sony's staple franchises are present but what about third parties? I remember reading that the MortalKombat team at Warner had gotten a dev kit for NGP late last year. I expected other developers and publishers had also been working with dev kits for some time.
When Nintendo revealed the 3DS they revealed a huge list of third party supporters and titles. I expected Sony to see this and counter attack having about a year more to prepare then Nintendo. Now yes I see Call Of Duty present and Monster Hunter. MH being one of the biggest franchises in Japan and CoD being one of the biggest in America but just having two of the most succesful 3rd party titles does not make up for such a shortfall.
Now an excuse might be that Sony and third parties are holding back on announcing titles till E3. However that theory would be full of flaws. First off 3DS launches in March long before E3. Sony would want to offset their launch by giving gamers a better line-up or at least biggest line-up possible at their show last night. Secondly E3 will likely be only a few months before the Japanese launch this winter, revealing other titles would be in their best interest right now.
So is this the line-up we can expect for NGP? Or is Sony actually holding out on us and keeping the 3rd party support a secret? Or are third parties simply not supporting NGP?
