For me:

3DS is cheaper, has a more marketable feature (3D more marketable than power) , is the successor of the most successuful console ever, is supported by Nintendo and all his best sellers, has a strong support from third parties, and will be released first.

I think the 3DS wins by a big margin, like DS vs PSP

games wise probably 3ds also.

for me il be getting psp2, hopefully their will be 3g connectivity in my country. and id love to play a game at home then play that same game on the go. other then that im not a fan of mario or zelda, or kid icarus, or a big re fan.

is NDS A CONSOLE? hmm i thought it whas a handheld?

Fixed, now thats sorted lets begin, we have no idea of the psp2 price yet (3d more marketable than power)? 3D has been around for many years now and i mean many years, black and white films did 3d ages ago, it just comes back every now and then, its more of a novelty but granted this time 3d has come back it has been given more of a push

psp2 also will have a strong line up Sony has plenty of developers who want to get there hands on this, I think this time around it will be close because the 3ds will be the most expensive hand held that nintendo has released so with people spending that much money i believe they will see what else is out there for a similar price before making a big desicion

So what we have learned from this thread so far.

DS/PSP are not consoles. They are handhelds.

Wii/Xbox360/PS3 are not consoles. They are homes.

3DS by far. There's no way that thing is going to be the same price as the 3DS. I say get ready for another beatdown from Nintendo. Sony is using the same strategy they did with the PSP, and it's NOT going to work out for them

1) An handheld is a console, it is just not an home console.

2) PSP had MH too.

Results?

Wii 11 millions, PSP 16 millions......   DS 33 millions.

3) I forgot to mention that the 3DS is fully retrocompatible when only the downloadable game are retro compatible for the PSP, the UMD, being the big majority of games sold, is not retrocompatible.

NGP is just the PSP strategy on steroids. Didn't work then, won't work now.

Also, it has a downloadable last-gen monster hunter. We shall see what platform the next full blown game will be for.
