Forums - Sony Discussion - Rummor: Sony will ban all Jailbroken PS3's Firmeware 3.6

I can almost 100% garuanteed there won't be a CFW 3.60 because There is no need for one  as there is new feature for the upgrade.  One thing I like to point that the term Jailbreak is very misleading and unclear,  I mean are they talking about the Jailbreak console that runs on a USB dongle? or the Hacked CFW system?.  Its stupid for anyone with a Dongle trying to logon to the PSN, they don't even have to ban you once you logon it'll force you to update to 3.60.   As for CFW people still able to logon to PSN using CFW 3.55 with a spoofer app.

My two cent this article is pointless but only to inject fear into the public.

no need for one is the least of the development problems, at the moment there isnt really any way to create 3.60 custom firmware, the old method used doesnt work anymore. security protocol is competely different in 3.60

the spoofer that youre talking about works fine, ya, you can (upon login) pass all checks that sony has for you, but you still wont have the latest firmware, traffic between your ps3 and psn can be logged, flagged, and taken action against whenever sony decides to do so.

when using any custom firmware, you'll never have reliable access to psn, nothing that you can do to your ps3 will change that, it plainly just doesnt work that way.

you can believe what you want, but if i were you i would run my custom firmware offline or upgrade. sony is likely testing the waters with their new security before they take action against customfirmware users

I'm a n00b and new to this site, but I'm just wondering. What if you had the hacked firmware and then you went clean and went back to the Retail firmware and deleted the modified patches I put for MW2 and CoD4, will they still ban you? I've been clean for the past few days...

Correct me If I'm wrong but I think it's still traceable even after you format it as I've heard of software that specialise in getting it back.

well, ps3 unique ids and psn accounts dont change. if you ran custom firmware while connected to their servers they are likely to have your unique id and psn accounts flagged as a custom firmware user. you cant change that but i wouldnt worry, they dont want to ban you. youre probably fine as long as you dont use custom firmware anymore
