Is the Xbox 360 or Kinect in low supply in your region?

Yes 53 42.40%

No 72 57.60%

Total:125

I'm out in Salem, Oregon, and was toy hunting just the other day and noticed that at Toys R Us, they were apparantly out of kinect bundles, but had a few stand alone kinects.  I noticed neither at Target, and BestBuy had a few bundles and stand alones.  In every instance where there were some (bundles or stand alones) the shelves were far from full and looking quite empty..  that said, much of the stores shelves look that way in January.

Plenty of both Kinects and Xbox360s in my area. Huge piles of unsold Slim X360s in all the electronics stores I've visited lately.

Meanwhile PS3s are nowhere to be found.

Yay, way to stay on topic and add depth to the Kinect/360 supply question.

Sorry, I was joking anyway.

I haven't really taken a look at gaming sections in stores for a while so i'm not sure.

Kinect is in short supplies but Xbox isn't , its selling very well as well.

I checked some Italian online stores and some brick and mortar ones in Genoa and its suburbs: in this limited sample I could see that of the most notable bundles, Wii plus Balance Board and XB360 plus Kinect, both 4 and 250GB, and PS3 320GB plus GT5 are sold out both online and at stores, while PS3 plus Move is sold out at stores but available online, and Wii plus Mario Kart and Red Wii with NSMBW are available both online and at stores.

About standalone consoles, Wiis are available both online and at stores, PS3 are available with the bigger HDD size while 160GB versions are in limited availability, both online and at stores and finally XB360, both 4 and 250GB, is available at stores but sold out or in limited availability online.

About standalone controllers, PS Move is available online and sold out at stores, PS Move Starter Pack available online, sold out at stores, PS Move Navigation control sold out at stores and online, Kinect available online and at stores, Balance Board available online and at stores.

Some online stores, after having sold out Wii plus Balance Board bundles, are selling the two standalone items also bundled, 20-40€ cheaper than buying them separately, but 10€ more expensive than the official bundle.

It looks like both logistics and production planning of the various bundles and peripherals sucked a little bit for all of the three competitors, all of them, none excluded, have some bundles and/or items that could have sold better if available in larger amounts in the right places.

When i was at bestbuy and walmart I saw that there was plenty of standalone kinect sensors. 360s were sold out in Best Buy unless they just decided not to display any in the 360 section. There were a few on display in walmart but I have no idea if those were just the displayed ones and there were more in storage.

This is is New Jersey, USA

I live in the UK and work in a store, 28 Kinect units in the storeroom, along with loads of 360s. both have filled up their respective spaces in the storeroom. Wii and PS3 are completely empty, however there is  a few Wii fits in the storeroom.

although i'm not sure that i can represent every store in the UK, from what i've seen it dosent seem out of stock here, not even close.

From what I saw around and described a few posts above, "shortages" or "tight supply" should concern mostly 360 plus Kinect bundles. This would also explains large availability of standalone Kinects and sufficient of 360, quite obviously people willing to buy both will wait for the bundle to be available again, unless retailers do like some of the online ones I checked are doing with Wii and Balance Board, selling the separed SKUS also bundled with a nice discount, a little bit more expensive than the official bundle, but a lot cheaper than the two items sold separately.
